had Sturgill released another "Sailor's Guide", I'd get the argument but he did completely change direction and his new show is very different. Played the album in full when I saw him. Think Tyler isn't getting enough credit here as to why that tour sold well (man sold out three nights at The Tabernacle instantly in Atlanta with resale being $100+ a piece).

I'll say this in regards to voting.
We have done like 4 drafts non-stop now and we're at the tail-end of it with the hardest voting system yet. I think given that, voting has been better than it could have been. There's less interest in pablo's draft bc of this and that's one I'd love to do but everyone is burned out a bit. I'm not gonna play it and am considering a break from the board / pod for a bit. So a thanks to everyone who stuck this out and voted.
to be fair, Slack did stop participating at some point
I'm genuinely surprised rule 18 wasn't invoked in this draft or the last one
your non-participation doesn't really affect this draft since you have a partner. If both of you stopped, even then you guys would've been on skip. Removing a lineup would've been for something malicious like repeated personal attacks, trying to cheat, trolling, etc.
Going to do the rankings before looking at the bracket, let's see how this works out.
1. sang / bandeto
Realism 6.5/10: Don't really see anything too outrageous here, I would say it probably needs more cheese edm, and I'm not sure bjork would play bonnaroo.
Quality 8/10: Great lineup, I would buy tickets to this in a heartbeat, and I would be able to get my more basic friends to buy a ticket as well. I think this would be very well attended bonnaroo.
Score: 7.25
2. Jaz / Fred
Realism 6.5/10: Going to give this one a 6.5 as well. Again there's no outright "unrealistic" act on here, but the feel of this lineup seems a little off from what bonnaroo usually goes for (but not so far off that I can actually put my finger on it lol)
Quality 4/10: While I do think this lineup is well constructed and is not a bad one, it also isn't really my cup of tea. FKA twigs is pretty meh to me (i know hot take), and Gaga doesn't really do much either though I'm sure she puts on a great show.
Score: 5.75
3. Chandler Bingaling / Rummy
Realism 9/10: I think bing and rummy did a great job capturing the bonnaroo feel, while still maintaining a quality lineup. I really like the choices of edm, and I feel like the billing here is great. Seems to be very on budget.
Quality 9/10: I really like this lineup. Wine drunk at Billie? Hell yeah. Smoking a j at paul simon? Hell yeah. Inhaling gasoline at radiohead? Do you even have to ask? Would buy tickets to this in a heartbeat.
Score: 9
4. Fearandparanoia / emoney / problem dog
Realism 3/10: I don't think this really looks like a bonnaroo lineup (tho I love it), I don't see anyway both the stones and cure headline. There also is not enough trash on this lineup, it's too good!
Quality 9.1/10: I would really, really love to go to this festival, the mix of artists here is so weird and I completely love it. I've never seen the cure or the stones so that is huge, also disclosure.
Score: 6.05
5. DRAGON ENERGY / whereispassionpit
Realism 3.1/10: This lineup is very inforoo, but not very bonnaroo. Outside of the headliners I don't think I would guess it was a bonnaroo lineup outside of the poster. Because I don't want to rewrite the previous sentance, I'll say the edm is realistic.
Quality 7.4/10: Yeah I'd go to this festival quicker than you can say blueberry pie. There's just too much to like, Charli, ELO, Soulwax, etc are all fantastic acts that are still on my bucketlist. Hell I'd even enjoy the MCR throwback.
Score: 5.25
6. Delicious Meatball Sub / Larry Farnsworth
Realism 1/10: This just isn't a bonnaroo lineup lol. 2manydjs wouldn't play, Hot chip is massively underbilled, the edm is too good, Taylor Swift isn't playing, and Arctic monkeys are a headliner imo.
Quality 6/10: Outside of t swift, I would enjoy this lineup hella. You probably wouldn't even need drugs, just sneak a couple cases of natty into centeroo (I know a guy), and go ham.
Score: 3.5
7. Cap’n Jim “Mad Dog” Mattis / Cap’n Mac
Realism 8/10: Outside of a couple acts I think this lineup is pretty realistic. Maybe the headliners are not the most realistic because I figure roo would want to book a headliner for the younger crowd, but at this point I'm being really picky.
Quality 7/10: Great lineup, I think this is the definition of solid. The acts are spread out well, and I'd have a ball.
Score: 7.5
8. King T / JamesTheRam
Realism 2/10: I feel like this would be a lot more realistic if the booking fee for all these artists were $1. This lineup is way too massive imo and surprised that it isn't a more widespread critique. The edm here is also lacking in terms of realism.
Quality 7.5/10: Great lineup with a bunch of artists I'd have a ball at. I've already seen macca, but fuck it I'd see him again. Probably with my friends ryan and chase.
Score: 4.75
9. gocatsnu / Dan Bobby B
Realism 10/10: Perfect, whoever drafted this is genius.
Quality 10/10: It feels like a lineup I would dream of. Whoever crafted this masterpiece must be reading my mind.
Score: 10
10. Silver Surfer / truevine
Realism 5.9/10: Too many niche acts to be super realistic, but there is a decent spread here and I really can't be to critical.
Quality 6.9/10: Nice, exactly like this lineup. There's a lot here that I like including MBV, young thug, and kacey. Nothing that really amazes me though.
Score: 6.4
11. Theo / Teddy Flair
Realism 8/10: Nothing really outrageous here except the chem bros which is fine to have one act like that. I think the edm and hip hop are very close to what roo would book.
Quality 6/10: Again, nothing on this lineup really wows me, but I would have a fun time here. I mean I went to roo 2016 so can't see myself having a bad time at a festival lol.
Score: 7
12. Todd / Jake Jortles
Realism 9/10: Very realistic lineup here with great genre diversity. I don't see any act as too big or too unrealistic here. Definitely feels like roo. Some of the edm is underbilled.
Quality 7.2/10: This is a lineup I'd bring some lemonade too because I'd be so damn thirsty the whole time. Man I can taste it now, watching ween while sippin on some lemon goodness.
Score: 8.1
13. Pepe Silvia / Nathan Fielder
Realism 6/10: I think this feels very bonnaroo, but is a tad overbudget so the final score here will be a 6. I appreciate the fact that there is a lot here for "the kids". I can already see the massive amount of tik toks being made at this festival.
Quality 8.5/10: LORDE IS A QUEEN.
Score: 7.25
14. VieuxCareen / cdevaney
Realism 2/10: The opposite of the last lineup. There is not really much for the kids here and as a result I do not know if it would sell that well. Not enough cheese edm either.
Quality 5/10: There isn't too much here that wows me besides MA. This lineup is generic enough to give it a pass, but also not generic in the right ways to call it bonnaroo.
Score: 3.5
15. Fozzie Bear / Monie
Realism 8.5/10: There's a lot here that makes me think bonnaroo. They pretty much nailed the roo like artists in most of the genres represented.
Quality 5.5/10: While this is pretty realistic, there's not much here for me. Dua would be a fun headlining show but there's no crazy gets, or acts that I could eat grass at.
Score: 7
16. katyperryofficial / Slack
Realism 6/10: I don't think this is too far off from being realistic, but I do think it's really top heavy. Also kanye isn't headlining, but I'll give that a pass. The under card feels very roo, and dare I say fun.
Quality 10/10: I think I love this lineup for the same reasons everyone else hates it. What's going on here? WHO CARES!!!!!!!! This is good ole fun from top to bottom and I love it for what it is. Shame that it won't get the look it deserves.
Score: 8

Sailor's Guide (2016) peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 200. Sound & Fury (2019) peaked at #12.
dont think that the Billboard is the right metric for a southern-rock and more jam style of act that Sturgill seems to be going for now. His tour sold really well

I'm comparing his own albums' performance to each other, because you brought up the second's performance. His 2016 album did better than his 2019 one. That's worth pointing out, regardless of other factors.

He's playing bigger venues now than he was in 2018 and he literally subbed before. How is this a real argument?
Sturgill seems comparable to The National at this point. Quality act that has its followers who will be more likely to take a trek for them. Draws a modest crowd with high engagement. Billed 2nd or 3rd on their day headlining small festivals

He just subbed two years ago and he had substantially less people add him to their schedule on the app than acts billed several spots or even lines below him, so he wasn't particularly popular with the crowd that year for some reason.

Sturgill sold out the Gwinnett Arena. STS9 can (or could, IDK now) sell out 3 nights at the Tabernacle too, and they're nowhere near sub-headliner level. It's not the same thing.

maybe in certain markets, but Sturgill is for sure bigger than The National in Tennessee
