Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I hope you knew I made that whole post up. I will say, though, I was quite proud of this one at the time. Had some real boomers pretty, pretty jealous until they figured it out.
oh i know, led to some of my funniest inforoo memories
I might be missing your joke but Pops made that whole post up lol. He listed a show from 1925 in his top 10 and a bar mitzvah
HAHAHA fuck
As soon as I read that post recently, I went to check Pops most recent posts to see if he was still alive. Figured he may have died in 2017 and never came back to the thread until now. Lolol fuck I was all jealous of pops n shit.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
So I wrote really long explanations for people but instead of finishing all of them I took a long nap. So is it cool if I just share my votes and post all the explanations later? Because that's what I'n about to do.
King T/JamesTheRam sang/bandeto
Dragon Energy/Whereispassionpit jones/emoney/problem dog
I wanted to vote last round (I have a couple posts in this thread) but didn't have time before the deadline.
I'll do a schedule for each act and then pick a winner. If I have empty spaces in the schedule you can just assume I don't know the acts playing at that time, or I'll say that I'm going to try to camp for a pit.
Th: Son Lux > Nick Hakim > ?? > Fontaines DC > ANNA
Fr: Nilufer Yanya > Sudan Archives > split De La Soul and Fatima Yamaha > 2 Chainz > pit for RATM (would see Sylvan Esso and Black Coffee otherwise) > RTJ > Superjam
Fr: Amadou & Mariam > Idles > Clean Bandit > Feist > Romare > Carly Rae Jepsen > Cardi B (pit if able) > Disclosure > Lane 8
Sa: Jeff Goldblum & The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra > Wolf Parade > Jamila Woods > camp out for Sturgill and Rolling Stones > Jamie xx > DJ Koze
Su: Billy Strings > DJDS > Ride > Ghosts of the forest > Sia pit (schoolboy q while waiting) > Banned Ole Opry > The Cure
This was probably the toughest matchup for me. I just saw Cardi last year at Bonnaroo from the second row, and she puts on an awesome show. Rolling Stones would be a bucket list for me, and the cure are cool too. I think MCR would do pretty well at Bonnaroo actually, and obviously Rihanna and Dead and Co would go over well. ELO aren't getting enough love. Think I'm going to go with DE/PassionPit barely though. I like the big names at the bulls more, but the overall day for dragonpit seems better suited to my taste.

Nothing has changed in my scores and I don't feel like copying and pasting my reasons, so here's the first 2 matchups:
Sangdeto vs. King T/JTR
Sangdeto has a quality score of 7 vs. King T/JTR's score of 7 Sangdeto has a realism score of 6 vs. King T/JTR's score of 5
PASSION ENERGY vs. The Bulls
DE/WIPP has a quality score of 8 vs. The Bulls score of 7 DE/WIPP has a realism score of 6 vs. The Bulls score of 7
Since this is tied, I'm giving the tiebreaker to DE/WIPP because I think the headliners are slightly better in both quality and realism, and DE/WIPP has a better Thursday anyways.
I didn't actually have the time to give the other teams ratings, so I'll do a short review for each lineup:
Bingrumaroo vs. Frazzledrip
Bingrumaroo schedule:
Thursday - Porridge Radio > Spellling > Opry > Tropical Fuck Storm Friday - Julia Jacklin > Sampha > Dorian Electra > Joji > Angel Olsen > BOCC > HAIM > Billie Eilish > Sufjan Stevens > Caribou Saturday - Empress Of > Phantogram > Stormzy > Moses Sumney > Snarky Puppy > The Raconteurs > Radiohead > GY!BE Sunday - Cherry Glazerr > Jay Som > Vince Staples > Kamasi Washington > The War on Drugs > Solange > Paul Simon
Great overall schedule, completely nailed it with Radiohead into Godspeed, 3 well rounded headliners, Stormzy is a great pick for this and I wish I saw more grime on people's lineups in general as it's really picking up some steam in the US and just makes a lot of sense, I wish Snarky Puppy and Moses Sumney weren't conflicting like they are, Paul Simon closing out the fest is great. 8/10
Frazzledrip schedule:
Thursday - Omar Apollo > Headie One > Channel Tres > Octo Octa b2b Eris Drew Friday - This is the Kit > James Murphy > Men I Trust > Floorplan > Ari Lennox > Big Red Machine > Phoebe Bridgers > Rosalia > Iron Maiden > Bonobo > Sigur Ros Saturday - The Beths > Mighty Mighty Bosstones > Sigrid > Jay Electronica > Of Monsters & Men > Lil Uzi Vert > Hot Chip > Taylor Swift > QOTSA > SJ Sunday - Bonny Light Horseman > Caspian > Wooden Shjips > Brockhampton > Kylie Minogue > Phish
Maybe my favorite schedule other than my own. Some great Thursday acts in Headie One and Channel Tres, Friday is just all around fucking nuts, especially closing on the band I would most like to see live in Sigur Ros. Side note that BRM and Phoebe overlapping at all is a crime and should be fixed. Saturday has more big pulls for me in the fantastic superjam, QOTSA, Hot Chip, OMAM (big nostalgia, the new stuff isn't that good), and Taylor after the new album. Sunday is weak in comparison but Caspian and Brockhampton is a nice closer. 9/10
Bingrumaroo ealism: I think Bing and Rummy have one of the best set of headliners for the draft, having 3 names all with decently different pulls and all being enough to sell out. Camila Cabello before Radiohead makes no sense at all in my head, and just overall not a good pick even though she is popular. She honestly is probably headliner level anyways. Really good Thursday in every sense, I don't have much of a problem with the other stage here and this fest did a good job of picking up newer names. 8/10
Frazzledrip realism: This headliner trio looks insane but I can see it being one to sell out the fest, and also possibly happening. Iron Maiden is a pretty unrealistic pick overall but if any US fest gets them I could see it being Roo. Taylor is a fantastic pick for the draft. A lot of these undercard acts are really good at supporting the headliners that were picked, and work pretty well billing wise (with an exception to Missy Elliott, though I don't really know where she would be billed). 8/10
Both lineups are fantastic and voting against Radiohead and Sufjan is very difficult but I have to give it to Frazzledrip for putting together an amazing fest.
Captains vs. Jaz/Fred
Captain's schedule is private, but the poster has pretty solid names throughout so I'll give it a 7.
Jaz/Fred schedule:
Thursday - Chai > Confidence Man > Altin Gun > Cordae Friday - Dua Saleh > Still Woozy > Belle & Sebastian > Harry Styles > Jesus & Mary Chain > Gambino > Thundercat > Gizz Saturday - Broken Social Scene > FKA Twigs > Beach House > Lady Gaga > Slowdive > Flying Lotus Sunday - Aldous Harding > Big Thief > Pusha T > Tash Sultana > The XX > Nick Mason > Arcade Fire
The undercard on saturday and friday are super weak for my taste, which is really disappointing because I absolutely love the headliners, LN, and subs. Thursday is pretty good, and Sunday is pretty nice. 5/10
Captains realism: Tool and Pearl Jam don't really need to be on the same lineup, but Gorillaz, Tyler and Florence are all great picks. I don't this would quite reach sell out levels, but there's a lot of gems in the undercard that all make a ton of sense at roo, like Kali Uchis, Slowthai, Denzel Curry, Explosions in the Sky, and more. There's a few names near the top that while don't feel super realistic on their own, make sense for what the captains put together. 6/10
Jaz/Fred realism: This is another where I'm not quite sure if they make it to sell out levels, but the headliner trio is very solid. The subs in general feel a bit on the weaker side in popularity, though having Harry Styles subbing balances that somewhat. King Gizz is a perfect pick, especially LN which. Pretty good genre mix overall, though I gotta say all the edm here is really bad, even for edm standards. 7/10
7/10 on quality and 6/10 on realism is enough to beat Jaz/Fred with 5/10 on quality and 7/10 in realism
Okay since I came back and took a sht in this thread here are actual, real #'s for the game as I understand it, and this is my real vote if you'll have it.
King James realism 5, quality 6 Sangdeto realism 6, quality 8
Th: Omar Apollo > Buddy > Mariah The Scientist > Channel Tres > Octo Octa b2b Eris Drew
Fr: Dogleg > Jade Bird > James Murphy > El Michels Affair > Floorplan > Big Red Machine > Arctic Monkeys > Grisedla > Iron Maiden > Missy Elliot > Sigur Ros
Sa: Operators > Amanda Shires > Jay Electronica > probably Teyana Taylor, but I'd really like to pit for Taylor Swift > Duck Sauce for a bit > 2manydjs > Superjam
Su: Caspian > SOB x RBE > Maya Jane Cole > Georgia > Mark Ronson vs Kevin Parker > Day of the Dead Superjam > Phish
Su: Chloe x Halle > Vince Staples > War on Drugs > Paul Simon pit
Voting for Frazzledrip because while I love Radiohead and Paul Simon, I've seen Radiohead twice and Paul Simon on his farewell tour, and I haven't seen Taylor Swift and Iron Maiden and those are both really high on my list. Billie would also be really cool, and postjack and snowman know damn well I'm gonna see Phish if I get the chance/have the money when they're near me. I think my days are more full at Frazzledrip. I'd go to both lineups though for sure
You should run a draft sometime. It might have annoyed others for whatever reason but I have appreciated your promptness in this game and the last (maybe now more than ever).

I decided I'm not going to run one because of this draft.

I also appreciate the multiple people telling me to vote while I had already said I was going to finish it before the deadline and I was writing it up at that moment.

Jake Jortles and I were talking about doing a III Points draft a while ago but there’s already a couple scheduled (Auction currently, Zombie Draft in October cdevaney?, Coachella 2 after, Infinity IV in January 2021?)

I'd love to run one similar to the iii Points draft but maybe a little different. Haven't been on Inforoo much the last few weeks, but when things die down at work and there is an opening I'd like to revisit this.
