Su: Phoelix > Sinkane > Anna Lunoe > The Presets > Thom Yorke > Actress > Moon Duo > Pearl Jam
Fred/Jaz lineup is dank. Would love to see Harry Styles and Lady Gaga. Don't give two shits about Pearl Jam or Tool. Florence/Tyler/Gorillaz are awesome, but not enough to overcome Fred/Jaz lineup. Could definitely have fun at both though
I remember asking in the main thread if people actually try to manipulate the rules to win a dumb internet game with no stakes and I’m very disappointed to see the answer.
is no one seeing my post where I said we are counting the new Flanz vote?
but if it's tied why wouldn't we just us BB as a breaker.
*Lol sticky no! (Especially with that coming in past as well)
ah that one Letting a tie be broken by a vote past the deadline would be a bad move imo. With matchups this close, the tiebreaker is almost just luck with who is online at the time. That’s why I liked the higher seed option.
So I wrote really long explanations for people but instead of finishing all of them I took a long nap. So is it cool if I just share my votes and post all the explanations later? Because that's what I'n about to do.
King T/JamesTheRam sang/bandeto
Dragon Energy/Whereispassionpit jones/emoney/problem dog
Frazzldrip Chandler/Rummy
Cap'n Jim/Cap'n Mac Jaz/Fred
These are all the explanations I wrote so far btw. I'll finish the rest tomorrow.
sang/bandeto (The following is one of those long posts I wrote for the first round) I think Metallica was a little unnecessary here. I can never see Bonnaroo having two metal headliners. However, both RATM and Metallica are pretty mainstream so it's not too polarizing. After that, the undercard is pretty reasonable with some great acts that Bonnaroo could definitely book. I think the poster could have benefited from you bumping Porter, Weezer, Chvrches, and The Roots down to the second line. Then acts like Chromatics and Mastodon could be in the white text. It would look a little more evenly stacked that way. But I also think Wale is way too high and I'd probably knock him down to the white text before Chromatics or Mastodon. I also think The Roots have enough legacy credibility that they could sub for Metallica. I think it would look cooler for it to be Metallica - The Roots. But I understand Khalid is popular. BUT I still would put them in front of Chvrches. As far as the schedule goes I think Fontaines D.C. is the only thing I'm familiar with Thursday. But that would be a fun 1am Thursday set similar to Ty Segall in 2014. Is Sang's Mom actually eligible? So Friday I'd have no problem being in the pit line all day to see RATM. Not a whole lot that gets me really excited. Primus vs Post Animal vs Yaeji vs Jungle is ridiculously brutal. Assuming all inforooers get a VIP pass to the front row I'd do De La Soul > 2 Chainz > Hot Since 82 > Black Coffee > Primus > RATM > Run The Jewels > Superjam. Pretty satisfying day at Bonnaroo. Saturday I'd start off with Bully which would be a waste on the Which at 3:30. I noticed in other people's schedules too, but don't put punk bands at the very start of the day on the Which. That totally drains the energy. Khruangbin main stage is interesting but I'm for it. Björk would be incredible. But then another brutal conflict with Oh Sees, Freddie Gibbs, and Weezer. If I could see one more of those acts it would improve my day significantly. I'd skip Lizzo for Mastodon then Deafheaven. If I did Oh Sees > Mastodon > Deafheaven that would be such a ridiculously fun and rowdy time. Not really much for me here Sunday, maybe I just need to discover more of these acts. Maybe make the What Stage: Little Dragon > The Roots > Metallica and the Which Stage: CHVRCHES > Khalid? Idk that would make the day a little more exciting for me. Overall pretty great lineup and I'd have a good time every day. I think there's some room for improvement but with those improvements, there's a lot of potential.
King T/JamesTheRam (This is also a long post I wrote in the first round) On first impression your top lines seem a little expensive. I probably would have gone with something smaller than Ariana Grande after getting Paul and Travis Scott. Not a whole lot I know Thursday besides Viagra Boys but you got a nice full schedule going. Friday I'd do Everything Everything > We Were Promised Jetpacks > Parcels > All-American Rejects (which is hilarious but totally works for Bonnaroo) > Deftones > Pixies > Oysterhead. Even on a day with Kygo and Ariana as the main acts I can still schedule a Gen X wet dream during the last half of the day. Saturday I'd do The World is a Beautiful Place > Foxing > The Internet > DCFC > Virtual Self > Travis Scott > Robyn > Hannah Diamond > Animal Collective. Pretty stacked fucking day. I like that I can get three late night acts in. Sunday I'd do The Free Nationals > Pinegrove > Hayley Williams > Diet Cig > Bright Eyes > New Order > Macca. New Order into Paul would be an amazing way to end Bonnaroo. Honestly besides the top three being a little too expensive, I think you guys did a great job. I'm going to give you guys my vote here. Your schedule makes sense, there's some good variety, and generally my only complaint is you basically have two #1s.
Dragon Energy/Whereispassionpit
I really like your three headliners. They're each so different and weird put together but I feel like that's what Bonnaroo is all about. The most unfortunate thing is that like with any Dragon Energy lineup, I just don't know most of the undercard. I don't know how much I should honestly hold that against this lineup. On Thursday Kenny Beats and Zac Fox would be fun. Friday I guess I'd see Tipper (sunset) and then Brittany Howard. After that Devo > Spiritualized > Rihanna > Anthrax > Charli XCX. Saturday I'd do Kevin Morby > Tyler Childers > Toro y Moi > Jeff Lynne's ELO > The Eric Andre Show Live! > My Chemical Romance > Soulwax > Floating Points. Pretty good day. Eric Andre into MCR just seems like a dumb fun time and Soulwax > Floating Points would be a great late night. Sunday I'd do Jimmy Eat World > Fleet Foxes > Pharell > Dead & Company. Wouldn't be a bad weekend but honestly a lot of my schedule just feels like me picking out some names I'm familiar with. Ultimately I'm going to go with you guys on this. While I sort of struggle coming up with a lot of acts I'd be really excited for, I have a lot less issues with your lineup/schedule than I do with jones/emoney/problem dog.
jones/emoney/problem dog
Pretty solid top three for Bonnaroo. However certain acts stick out way too much as being overbilled. Most notably Schoolboy Q. Not really familiar with anything Thursday. Scheduling Idles at 1:30 on the Which Stage should be a fucking crime. But after Idles I'd head over to Code Orange, take a break from the pits, then do Joan Jett & the Blackhearts > Carly Rae Jepsen > Iggy Pop which is a great run on the Which Stage. I'd skip Cardi then do Disclosure and Lane 8 for late night. I also don't want to imagine how awful the crowd would be at the What Stage all day. Saturday I'd do Angélique Kidjo (which starts at 11:30!? holy shit) > then...actually I have a huge gap so maybe I won't get up that early to get into Centeroo. Lil Yatchy and Joey Badass have way too long sets. Especially Yatchy who would totally not perform for 90 minutes, and nobody needs that much of him anyways. He would also not close the Which. Ignoring that, Sturgill > The Rolling Stones is very cool. Jamie xx > Ty Segall would make for a good late night. Schoolboy Q on the What Stage at 4:45pm is dumb. Future Islands > Sia > Interpool > The Cure is a good run.
Chandler/Rummy Your three headliners are pretty great for Bonnaroo but your subs are so depressing. It seems as if maybe you guys were so worried about realism that you made a lineup where I'd start to worry about ticket sales. Chance The Rapper is at an all time low in his career with a universally hated album and a tour he had to cancel twice because sales were so bad. Friday's top line of Billie Eilish - Chance The Rapper - HAIM just comes off so vanilla and devoid of life. RUFUS as a #2 is a bit of a stretch. Solange is getting a bump to pre-headlining after not being that popular at Roo 2019. Has The War on Drugs gotten more popular since they played in 2015? I would just compare the top lines of what was supposed to be Bonnaroo 2020 and your lineup....and I think the issue becomes obvious. Schedule time....Thursday not familiar with much. Friday my day doesn't start until Daniel Caesar which would be hot as fuck on the Which Stage. I feel like Daniel Caesar is made for sunset/night time. Then I'd go to Angel Olsen > Better Oblivion Community Center > HAIM I guess? > Sufjan > Caribou. A pretty nice soft indie darling day lol. EW&F would not play a tent. They were originally scheduled for a tent in 2015 and had to be upgraded to the Which Stage. No way they'd go back to being scheduled for a tent. Saturday I'd go Against Me! (why do people keep putting punk bands on the Which so early) > The Underachievers > Stormzy > Bikini Kill (which is very out of place on the What Stage). Then I'd see A Tribute to John Prine which I have to say is by far the best part of your lineup. Like this fucking rules so hard and I'll be upset if Bonnaroo doesn't do something like this in 2021. Radiohead into Godspeed You! Black Emperor would make for one of my best Bonnaroo nights ever. So I gotta say Saturday is pretty stacked for me. Sunday I'd see Cherry Glazzer > Jay Som > Vince Staples (who would not translate well in the middle of the day on the What) > Kamasi > The War On Drugs (who are a pre-headliner now?) > then game time decision between Solange and Claypool. Paul Simon I'd just drink with my friends towards the back during.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Are we just seeing if any new people vote for 12 hours? Doesn’t rly make sense for everyone to have to vote again.
yeah I guess we could. "runoff" means a new poll but if The Bulls like this, we'll do it
imo it makes sense to just add 12 hours and allow anyone to change their vote here or any new people to vote. But not sure if emoneyTOSTIEproblem dog have anything against that or another idea.

you guys decide what’s best, and I’ll run it in the morning

Give us a little time to talk it over.
