My wife and I are having our first baby this April, but we are still thinking of doing Newport this year. Has anybody here brought their baby to Newport, or know someone who has? I know the fest is really family-friendly, but I was wondering how people fared with bringing an infant.
Tickets are going to be hard to come with the amount of rollover from last year.
if you don't have a ticket from last year you won't be getting one this year
I think there will be tickets available in some capacity to the public but have to agree, it'll be very limited. Have to imagine the Revival Membership + Foundation members will account for a large portion of a restricted capacity.

Seconding this question. We skipped 2019 because our first was less than a month old but if anyone’s got experience with a toddler at the fest we’d love advice.

I saw a post that showed they pulled liquor licenses for two folk fests: July 23-25 and July 26-28. Looks like there might be two half capacity 3 day feats. Just speculating.

without membership, the anxiety for tickets is already taking hold.
my hope is for some sort of simultaneous announcement of a streaming option. both so that everyone can be a part of it and to perhaps raise money for hte foundation to protct our festival in the future.
I've been amazingly quiet all year. Nice to see everyone and breathe the fresh air of a 2021 link.
I assume most of the rigging and systems remain up through the Jazz Fest, and could very much see a 5 or 6 day fest ("event") with perhaps half the size and even some performers appearing twice. I've also wondered whether the tennis stadium, which has been used for the Jazz Fest, might be a secondary site I can even envision separate sites at the park which have some live and some streamed performances. This is a creative bunch. Whatever Jay and team manage, kudos to them. No critique from this corner. See you all back here soon, I hope!
"McKee and Commerce Secretary Stefan Pryor said, at the briefing, that state officials were in conversation with Newport Folk and Jazz organizers to hold some form of the festivals this summer, The Newport Daily News reports. Events with up to 1000 attendees, or 10% capacity, will be allowed starting May 1, Pryor said, and larger events may be allowed after July 15."
Hard to come by is probably going to be an understatement. If July 15th is the first possible bump, I'd guess 25% would be next step unless new cases are way down prior to that.

Connecticut is planning on 50% of up to 10,000 cap on April 2. I can’t see why RI wouldn’t be at that point by July. Definitely not expecting more than 50% that’s for sure.

Not Newport Specifically, but I've done countless festivals with children of all ages. AMA.

Our little guy is pale as milk so my biggest question is: what do you do for sun protection?
Others that spring to mind is what do you do about attention span? Do you move stages (other than into the family tent?)
He’s two so anything else you think is useful is much appreciated.

Yup. One is listed as “event” though.
That Monday-Wednesday event happens every year. It's called BridgeFest.

What a difference a year makes. Especially last year! I loved the lineup from last year but this year, if I am lucky enough to have tickets and listen to live music, it doesn't matter who plays. Hoping to see everyone in July!
