Anyone know about what percentage of total lineup ended up self-announced at this point? I guess it depends on day right? Wonder will the app contain the schedule with stages filled in with all the self-announced artists?

hard to say - there are 47 acts listed on NFF, and I had been going off an assumption there would be a maximum of 72 total (if no acts repeated days, assuming 12 acts per day). of course, that was before they announced the busking stage, so it's possible that some of the acts listed are only playing there, which means more open spots.
going off the 47/72 ratio, we'd be at about a maximum of 65% announced, but it could be significantly more (if a bunch of these acts are in fact playing multiple days), or less (if a bunch of these acts are part of the busking stage only)
I’m definitely hoping for Jim and Delta. They make sense but I’m trying to not count my chickens before they hatch.
Delta Spirit is not playing Newport this year. I know this for a fact
Last night, when posting that they wouldn't see Nathaniel for a few weeks, I feared this might be true. Got any facts on MLV playing another set at Folk On other than with Middle Brother?
Someone on reddit said they saw Phoebe Bridgers listed in the Lineup, but im not seeing that on my app. Just the lineup from when i was there in 2019.
If you delete the app and reinstall, it’ll show last years lineup. So whoever saw what was looking at last years lineup
Bummer. I totally forgot she was announced for last year. It was going to be a great year... but hopefully she shows up anyway. touring soon, and very friendly with Connor and Lucy Dacus/Julien Baker etc...
I know the weekdays are spoiled for announcements but I would still love one more this week to fully hype me up. Fingers crossed for Big Thief, The Lone Bellow, or something out of left field

Finally getting around to listening to the artists I'm unfamiliar with this year and there's a lot to like. Sierra Ferrell, S.G. Goodman, and Elijah Wolf have all wowed me.
Upcoming Shows: August 7: Green Day/Smashing Pumpkins/Rancid/The Linda Lindas August 30: Waxahatchee/Snail Mail/Tim Heidecker September 17: Pearl Jam/Glen Hansard September 24: Idles/English Teacher

Absolutely agree, would also add Andrea von Kampen to the list.

I have chills in anticipation of hearing S.G. Goodman play "The Way I Talk" at the Fort.
Lucy Dacus confirmed for July 23rd and she is booked up the rest of the weeek. Julien Baker playing the 28th, but doesnt have anything else scheduled on her website. So it makes a Boy Genius surprise highhhly unlikely. not not impossible i guess.
NJF released their schedule and stuff today just fyi
If Folk On has a similar schedule, we're looking at 10 acts per day not including Busking Stage.
I have to imagine that it’ll be 10 per day for Folk Fest as well. Even with mainly acoustic instruments, it’d be hard to have fewer than 30 minute set changes. And we know starting time is at noon, just like Jazz Fest.
This means we must be pretty close to having the entire lineup for Friday and Monday.
It also makes me worry about crowd control. Because there are lots of times when there’s only one act playing - this could put all 5,000+ attendees in the same place at the same time (and with smaller stages, everyone might need to push closer for a good view).
Probably would have been in the announcement if anything more than Chris Thile solo or Chris Thile with Special Guests but Nickel Creek was not on my bingo card and I’d be ecstatic if they were there to play!

Looks like 7/28 for Chris Thile. Hope he pops in for some fun on the weekend too!
