It’s been a long time since two alternative albums came out in the same week that I wanted to listen to: St Vincent and Black Keys. Hoping that all of that good music that was recorded over the pandemic starts to makes it way out in anticipation of summer and fall tours starting back up.
I have a feeling tickets will be easy to get this year. Our group of 15-20 (been going every year since 2010) is not going this summer.
For us it’s just not the same without the aftershows. Doubt the DeerTick crew is gonna be there this summer. Hopefully be back in 22
We are likely gonna pool our “Newport money” into bringing an artist to Charleston instead. ‘Find 50 people to throw in $200 and you can have a nice little party
My gf and I are skipping this year too. I've gone every year since 2011.
Congrats to everyone who got weekend. I might make the effort for the full 6 days if lyte pulls through but hoping mon-wed is extra special haha
Fri sat sun is still available
Checked and it was letting me add 1 to my cart, but by the time i sent it along to my crew they were gone again. Oh well, weekday is preferable for me, but if i'd gotten the tickets i would've done both
Whew. Got my two weekends pre-sale, and son logged on and immediately got two more. Lyte has been very good to me over the years, so don't give up anyone.
As for who is playing, aside from the announcements so far, let's not forget that EVERY act from last has been invited back...James Taylor has said he will be there...I'd start with that list first, including some early drop outs that didn't make the final announced lineup last year.
Not sure if I'd be attending if I wasn't vaccinated...but this may be my last year...three days in that sun is just getting a lot for this newly minted Medicare recipient, so very happy to have these. And looking forward to making new young friends. The youngest kids have been so kind and giving and helpful...as long as I tell them what it was like seeing Led Zeppelin in 1969 Folk On.
If those M-W tickets don’t sell out, maybe they’ll be forced to make announcements
Here for this thought
On the other hand, if it doesn’t sell out... I worry what I will do if I need to resell my ticket. There’s not an option in Lyte to price a ticket below face value, right?

Invited back isn't the same as playing. Two pretty big acts from last year absolutely aren't playing this year.
