can't wait for the first oracle fake/counter (wherein only the oracle & mafia themselves, along with potentially inspector if a name they have is the one who counters, knows who is the real one--and both are kept alive til d5)
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Also I was thinking about this last game. I don't think there's any reason for oracle to hide themself. We saw in the first game how clutch it was to have a confirmed townie keep floating through. Maybe talk this out but I've been sitting this idea for a minute and I can't think of any negatives to oracle revealing even on day 1
They’ll just get whacked D1. That’s a huge liability to keep around for the 3/11 (woah amber is the color of your energy) chance they guessed right
Well then inspector is guaranteed to be alive day 2

I just think we should at the very least wait till D2 or if the Oracle knows they have a mafia hooked. Whacking a town asset D1 because we still have a different town asset is not really good enough reasoning for me
I think I’d be down for Oracle revealing today, now that I think on it. Because if Dan WASNT inspector, then mafia has to decide n2 whether to kill Oracle or try for someone else they worry may be inspector

Waiting till day 2 makes sense I guess. I don't think maf would go over oracle n1 though

D1 oracle is a bad idea. Not only are you trying to guess a name but you're also trying to avoid whoever inspector is likely to guess to avoid getting the same name.
no. I thought Theo was reaching/ jumping to conclusions too much. E.g., Theo is mafia and looking for reasons to target potent. I don’t think that zero votes is much of a correlation on day 1.
This was more of a joke because Potent got exiled D1 last game
I think I'm in agreement with Silver Surfer re: oracle. What are the downsides to it?
i think the surprise aspect of mafia attempting to kill someone and getting a reveal could be big, obviously in the 2 games we've used it,, the early reveal worked better, but short sample size/functions as good as the guesses.

Mafia still killed oracle and we got a reveal when oracle was out in the open. And then if mafia decides not to kill them then we have day 5 with confirmed townie

I keep doing the math:
Dan - town Jaz - dead, so role doesn't matter oracle oracle name inspector inspector's given mafia inspector's n1 guess myself
At best that could give each regular townie roles of 8 people in this game. That's a huge number! Mathematically that allows the town to kill the oracle today to reveal their name, revealed inspector whacked at night, and we are left with 7 players D3 where we know the roles of the majority of the players and can whittle down guesses.
I'm not advocating for this necessarily and want to have holes poked in the plan again. And it's definitely stupid to play the same way every time (meaning we would have to tweak powers and stuff for the next game).
I'm thinking out loud here. But also on a work zoom so maybe missing things.

I think that's a very unlikely scenario
did it not happen exactly like that the first time it happened?
also that big oracle win was 50% tranter nailing it, and 50% me saying fuck convention lets roll it.
if the outed oracle is killed d3 w a wrong/right name we get good info, if a hidden oracle is killed we get good info.
i think the only real positive to outing is for d5 and for being able to sort of talk through the name so inspector and oracle dont over lap.
