So far I’m only locked in for The Word for jazz fest. There’s so many great shows coming to Nola so it’s hard to prioritize. I’ve got my Jade Bird, Phoebe Bridgers, MMJ, and Drive By Truckers tickets
10/7 Stanton Moore Trio 10/8 Turkuaz 10/9 Dead Feat or Soopergroop (moe has a three night stand in Buffalo coming up so I could skip that) 10/10 White Denim/Karina Rykman or Honey Island Swamp Band

Jazz Fest doesn't really sell out does it? Got one ticket for W1 and planning to use it Saturday but debating going Sunday too. Just curious if I got plenty of time to decide?

They don't. It doesn't mean they don't oversell sometimes. There have been shows in the last several years (Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac and The Who specifically) where there is literally nowhere to watch those sets unless you run into someone you know who has a spot on the lawn. The forcing of the chair crowd to move back has helped some. I just got back in New Orleans after driving all morning. So I haven't even seen the dailies yet.
Looks like all the local adds are completed. Wk 1 Sunday looks to be Tank & Bangers > Revivalists at Gentilly; Ludacris > Lizzo @ Congo Square and then Randy Newman > Foo Fighters on the main stage.
I'll probably do Saturday, Sunday weekend 1 and then figure shit out for Wk 2.
There’s a rumor going around that Voodoo will be cancelled due to a “lack of available talent”. Kind of a bummer that all these fests happening at the same time might push them out
And Jazz Fest adds The Rolling Stones and a day full of additional bands. LOL. Show em how it's done Jazz Fest.

Wait… Wednesday is just the RS show right? I didn’t think there would be any other acts
Is a show like this gonna be a no-cap show too? I don't even know why I'm considering this, I'm already gonna be super busy in October.
Yeah. It's probably going to be chaos, but I don't even much care after how much fun they were last tour.
I meant to post out a couple notable hiphop aftershows plus Adventure Club the other day, but I think my computer died in the middle of it.
Friday Wknd 1 Feed the Streetz Tour 2021 - Rick Ross, Jeezy, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, Boosie Badazz and Lil Kim. I was planning on going to see moe. that night, but I think they have a 9:00pm show. Civic is walking distance to the Smoothie King Center, so there is a chance I'll go to this. I don't like Rick Ross and don't care to see him. But the rest of the lineup (I've seen them all but Jeezy) looks worth it.
Sunday Wknd 1 Curren$y: Jet Life 420 (10:00pm House of Blues)
So Fresh, So Clean - Music of Outkast featuring Isaac Teel, Big Sam, Nate Edgar, Khris Royal, Steve Swatkins, Craig Brodhead, Shira Elias, Joel Fuentes, Parris Flemming, Erin Boyd, Mr. AT <-- You know this will be good (2:00am The Maison on Frenchmen)
Saturday Wknd 2 Adventure Club - 10:00pm The Metropolitan
Got them 2 Rolling Stones tickets for $206.50 each including fees. If anyone needs the AEG Presale, it's Rolling21.
FWIW, the rest of the Stones' Wednesday lineup was released. Mostly it's just a reshuffling of other acts with one or two adds, but there is some good shit I'd like to see or see again.

interesting, I know they like to pick their openers, but drummers who's name I can't remember is a HUGE Nola music nerd, so not too weird that it's mostly jazz acts

he had an interview in our paper when they played here and he had like a whole paragraph talking about how he had to visit NOLA on the way and what a great city it was

They had to stay in town a bunch of days last show because a hurricane pushed it into the next week. He’s supposed to be showing up at the Threadhead Patry on Tuesday daze between. They’re always out and about when in town. Back in 1978, they did a legendary show at the Dome where it got smoked out and Mick stopped and marveled at the feat. Haha.
A poster on Reddit is claiming they’ve already made the decision to cancel and are just figuring out the logistics of refunds/roll-over tickets before they announce. Given the current trend here, I wouldn’t be surprised
Steve Jordan will be filling in on drums for The Stones. One of my favorite drummers. Also, jazzfest now features 2/3 of the John Mayer Trio…
Charlie Watts probably saw the writing on the wall, and bailed due to the risk of catching a breakthrough covid case at age 80.
Good move by him. Yahoo said he had surgery and the timing was wrong for him to go out on tour (but that he's doing well). Sucks because when he was 78 on tour a couple years ago, he still fucking can drum like a mfer.
Here's a couple more new night shows:
10/9 @ NOLA Brewing - Project Logic (DJ Logic, John Medeski, MonoNeon, Vernon Reid, Daru Jones) @ 7pm (Medeski & MonoNeon are also playing lat that night at Maison with Skerik and Stanton Moore)
10/11 @ Maison - Rockus Caucus featuring MonoNeon, Adam Deitch (Lettuce, Break Science, Pretty Lights), Corey Glover (Living Color), Luther Dickinson (North MS Allstars), Roosevelt Collier & Eric McFadden
10/14 @ Republic - Ghost-Note Neon & Tauk (Ghost-Note & MonoNeon play the music of MonoNeon, Tauk performs a special Parliament Funkadelic vs. Sly and the Family Stone set
