honestly i couldnt give a fuck less if these morons get covid, i hope insurance rates skyrocket for them once the vax is fully approved. I cant do the lockdowns again, it nearly broke me mentally

I think it’s way too late for bonnaroo to call it, they’d be financially screwed if they did this late.
That said I do find it concerning how wrist bands still haven’t been mailed or daily schedule hasn’t been announced, both are super late.
I do think other later fall festivals follow suit like Hulaween and whatever else.
I wouldn't count on that. I read something about festivals/shows have exit clauses for up to a week before the show/event it allows them to pay artists 10%, but it's not under insurance. I'll see if I can find the article.

When Big Ears canceled in 2020, we had already gotten wristbands and a schedule. That’s a different monster with both size, scope, and set of circumstances, sure.
Don’t think that they won’t eat the cost of wristbands if they’re afraid they’re gonna get sued. It’s truly a “hope for the best, prepare for the worst” situation.
I think the show will go on - with proof of vax or a negative test result. And a headliner will be replaced.
Any chance this "headliner" could be referring to Deadmau5? He's playing North Coast Festival the same day he's scheduled to play Roo and is speculated to be "headlining" the Other Stage.

I think it's going to be like how the late night Jazzfest shows are, and supposedly have the Jazzfest seal of approval/affiliation. Oh he mentioned SXSW style.
He's doing security at Gasa Gasa and, according to the owner, all the bigger named venues came together to make this happen. 🤷♀️
They just decided to cut their losses and get out 61 days prior to the start of the show, saving themselves major artist deposits.

At least they admitted it in the article today. 130,000 tix sold? ACL is 2 wknds in Oct and is sold out (450,000 tix?). That says it all. Better to pull the plug and not lose so much money that you jeopardize the future.

ACL is 75,000 a day. The 450k is adding up the daily attendance.
