What's the checker thing? At cruel world they had a DJ tent that wasn't on the map and never seemed to have any information and it was around where that checker box is on this map. I wonder if it's the same thing?

The checkerboard thing is almost definitely the DJ thing. The dancefloor at cruel world had the same floor pattern.
You went in there? Every time we walked by we heard some killer music but couldn't find the time to stop in there.
I went in for about 30 min during Jenny NONO at Cruel World and it ended up being one of my favorite performances of the weekend. Me and Reggie Watts were the only two dudes getting down on the dance floor. So fucking cool!!

Checked the weather forecast for Saturday, and we are looking at a divine 74. Thank you Cruel World for taking the heat wave bullet last week. (I'll be regretting these words when No Picnic ends up in the triple digits.)

And its gonna be glorious when the sun dips behind the hills on top of that. Lets also add to the fact that its not sold out so it cant be as crowded as Saturday.

to be fair, I got WAY more sunburned on sunday than I did on saturday. the weather gave me that false sense of security lol. the sun burn made me feel really cold sunday night around 9pm.

my plan is to start at Stardust stage through most of !!! and then head over to Orion and camp the rest of the night. gonna be a bummer to miss Cut Copy but since I'll be in ADA I don't want to lose my spot.

I love Bloc Party, but I'm now thinking about skipping them to see Santigold and then eat dinner. They've never been a great live act, and after seeing them play "Silent Alarm" in 2019, a more modern set sounds far less appealing. I know most bands here are also past their prime, but they've also accepted that people want to hear their older material (Interpol play mostly from the first two records), whereas Bloc Party are still really insistent that you hear and like the latest thing they've farted out.
I'm thinking (if I'm there early enough) Islands > Peaches > Wolf Parade > Cut Copy > Franz > Santigold > Shins > Modest Mouse > Interpol

99% sure I saw bloc party at the troubadour many years ago and it was great. I honestly am not 100% sure because I lived near there then and knew people at the venue and went to a ton of shows there and it’s sort of blended together. Oddly enough the one that stands out the most, even though I saw some pretty huge acts there, is Fuck Buttons.
