Hmmm, maybe they had to follow up ACL with the Paramore announce.
Doubtful with Avril and Alanis being in play
Guess we'll find out. And its interesting that single days are going up with the poster. Thats normally saved for a phase 2 announce. So possible they have 75% of their acts ready to go to justify that?
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
With Gang of Four, FEAR, Bauhaus, and Misfits… they’re going after the old punks!
The Misfits aren't as big for me, but the other three are working on me for sure. I'd argue the old punks thing, but I've covered before with garageland and alawre that I know what I am 😄

Someone on Reddit decoded another one of the anagrams as Portugal the Man - seems like they’d be the third headliner no?
I feel like they've fallen off a bit in popularity. They were opening up for Alt-J earlier in the year. I think they would sub or close out one of the stages against the headliner.

Portugal the Man just did a co headline tour with Alt J, and the dates at arenas seemed to struggle to sell tickets. Can't see them as a headliner here, but probably sub the main stage or close a side stage.
EDIT: HA looks like blurfan beat me to my own thought!
Yeah, 3 years ago Portugal wouldve got a top spot. Theyll def be up there but nothing earth shattering. If Avril or Alanis dont pan out it might just be Greta Van Fleet.
So how many of these do you think they possibly couldve planted as fakes though. If something thats too good to be true got decoded pops up its them trolling, right?

That seems like a lot of effort to fool us into believing that, like, Rocket From the Crypt is playing.

I think Riot Fest HQ has no issue making the effort into throwing in some decoy ducks, thats in their nature.

CHVRCHES are skipping Chicago on their summer+ fall tour and are in Denver a few days after Riotfest weekend
The hardest thing to decode, a female lead act.
I agree with shuck. Tricking someone into thinking a random band like Rockets for the Crypt or the Maine, that fits with thematically with the festival, and may be someone’s favorite band, is playing the festival when they’re not isn’t on brand, even for Riot Fest. Having people waste their time decoding these band names so that they all come out to Rick Astley and Jesse and the Rippers, is on brand. But we have the former and not the latter.
