03/14 - Thievery Corporation 04/25 - Black Country, New Road 05/04 - In Flames, Gatecreeper 05/10 - Modern Life is War 05/21 - Spite, Bodysnatcher, Thrown 05/29 - Knocked Loose, Loathe, Show me the Body, Speed 06/02 - Bush 06/22 - George Thorogood 06/23 - Dillinger Escape Plan, Deadguy, Candy, Carbomb
The crowd last year skewed older, which was a nice change of pace, but still a lot of college-aged kids. Production is world class, and I've never had a problem getting within a 100' of the stage, even rolling up just 10-15 minutes before a headliner.. bands like Mannequin Pussy I'm sure you'll be able to stroll right up to the rail, front and center, like I did with Reignwolf or Peach Pit last year.

Honestly, the Woodlands might be the nicest venue for any fest I've ever been to. It's lit up absolutely beautifully at night, with a forest pathway connecting stages.. It's definitely a unique feature.

Having been to both Roo and Firefly, I think they are extremely comparable. Probably the most similar fest to Bonnaroo overall in the world (that I've discovered at least). They're both camping fests where the music can go past the 10/11pm deadline of urban fests, they both have 4 rather than 3 days, they both book genre diverse lineups and don't focus on any one niche, and they both have good production.
Firefly is like Roo-lite. The music goes late, but not as late. There's stuff to do other than music, but not as much stuff. The booking has good variety and quality, but not as many amazing/random bookings as Roo. The people are generally nice, but not as over the top friendly. The layout of the site is good, but a bit more scattered than Roo meaning more walking. The camping is nice, but 4x as expensive.
It's a lite Roo. The closest thing you'll find to Roo.

thank you for this. Very excited now. feel like this will be a good intro to camping fest before i do Roo for the first time next year
With LiB lineup dropping today, I noticed Gryffin commented "bringing the live show to Vegas!". Which made me sad that he didn't verify it on Firefly's lineup post. Went back and checked Firefly's lineup, turns out he commented it a week late! Live show >>>>> DJ sets lets go!

Firefly Music Festival will move back to June when it’s warm and hot and it’s not supposed to be in September because the weather will be getting cooler.

But I like it in September when it’s mild and doesn’t create schedule conflicts for me!
im somewhat hyped for the undercard but damn Kid Laroi, Big Sean, and Zedd are absolutely vomit tier sub bookings. When does the daily come out? also should we expect any adds? would be nice to see wet leg on this. Edit: tbh with Arcade Fire on Osheaga and my partner considering bailing on this, i really hope they do because the more i look at this the more i wanna do Osh instead

What makes them vomit tier sub bookings? You personally don't like their music? I'm confused. Zedd is absolutely electric live. I didn't personally watch, but heard Big Sean put on a great show at Coachella.

Yeah the subs are super underwhelming, although I do love Weezer (somehow never seen them before) and Porter Robinson out of the second line artists.. Good news is, Firefly hasn't had a lineup with fewer than 100 artists since 2013, if I'm not mistaken.. So there will almost certainly be 2-3 dozen adds to the 81 announced artists so far. There were like 125 artists billed in 2019 when it was only a 3 day fest. The question is, what will be the quality, genre, and size of the additions.

They clearly knew the market was going to be saturated this year and put the lineup out early with intentions to steal some early ticket sales with MCR and Dua. I am confident the undercard will round out nicely with a few surprises.

I guess vomit tier is a bit too strong, more for my tastes i mean. But theyre just so boring lmao. Definitely excited for Porter, and i mean there is still a lot i’d like to see in the undercard. just feels so souring to see laroi, zedd, sean and gunna in the second line
given the new Lil Nas X dates it def makes me wonder if he declined a spot on this lineup. touring right around this area at the same time as the fest
I think there's till potential for him to get added. I believe, they're adding a few more sub headliners, and they're definitely adding more undercard. I'm curious to see what happens with Halsey. It sounds like she's still planning on touring, but I'm curious if festivals might roll her over to next year to avoid a Boston Calling situation, specifically the Rage situation.
he/they '12 - Firefly '13 - Firefly, Made In America '14 - Firefly, Made In America '15 - Mountain Jam (Sunday), Firefly, Pitchfork, Made In America '16 - Boston Calling, Firefly, Osheaga, Made In America, Roots Picnic NYC '17 - Boston Calling, Gov Ball, Firefly (Sunday), Pitchfork, Day For Night '18 - Boston Calling, Mountain Jam, Osheaga '19 - Form, Firefly (Sunday) '22 - Boston Calling, Firefly '24 - Solid Sound, Soundside

why would Halsey be cancelling? havent seen anything about that but it would def impact my partners willingness do go if they dont play
