If the acts playing saw the same 3-Hour-Clip I saw the other day (NYC going from Normal to Blade Runner 2049 in a three-hour-span), Half the lineup dropping out...
That fire is still out of control...
Don't have a law degree, but I would encourage any Artist I was representing to drop out. For personal reasons. And for "protecting your fans" reasons.

if someone doesn't feel safe going to a music fest because there is smoke in the air they could simply not go. no need to ruin everyone else's fun. most of the kids going to governors ball are probably doing much more damaging things to their bodies.

Good morning. AQI right now in Queens is 59. Unless things take a dramatic turn for the worse, I don’t see why you wouldn’t run a festival day in this, and I hope I don’t burn in Hell for saying that.

Clearly, you have never run a show...
If you put an event on, you are responsible for the environment of said event. Maybe not everyone's individual health. But the environment.
And that's a big assumption re: kids. It is absolutely on the promoters to make sure the kiddos stay safe.

I just saw on reddit that Friday ticket holders can show up tomorrow for FREE, unprecedented for GovBall low ticket sales and I have to guess today sold the most single day tickets.
Festivals should be in a park. Much better vibe than the parking lot.
Absolutely loved Lizzo’s set. She was awesome and her band killed it. I’ve seen her before, but this is the closest I’ve gotten and I loved it. Great setlist for my taste also.
Actually had a great run of shows. Haim was great as well but too short. Really enjoyed Remi Wolf. Thought 070 Shake was fun - she seemed to do more live singing than I’ve seen on clips from other fests. Spends a lot of time hyping up the crowd, but songs are good and she performed well. Also has a guitarist who shreds. I don’t understand the trend for asking the crowd to make mosh pits, when the music really doesn’t call for it, which she did a few times, but hey that’s me… Kim Petras was a little underwhelming to me (as I have felt in the past when I’ve seen her) but I also left 15 min early.
Not sure if I was just at the less popular sets, but it really seemed pretty empty. I got close for everything I tried. Got about 15th row for Lizzo literally the minute before it started. I also received an email that I could get in tomorrow with my Friday wristband! Not sure I can make it but wouldn’t mind seeing Rina and maybe Suki Waterhouse if I do.

The air levels in Queens are back to normal. It was unprecedented for this to happen in NY. Most people had no idea how quick it could go back to normal. It was a strange 3 days.
I wish the lineup was stronger because Govball is so much better in Corona Park. It's really night and day. I wasn't even considering going but Verizon sent my wife free tix so we went. Really glad I did. Hopefully Kendrick moved some tix for them so this isn't the last one ha

Everything turned out to be fine. The levels are back to normal NYC pollution. It was an unprecedented situation for NYC. Nobody knew it was clear up this fast.

so i had a good time at this thing yesterday. first and foremost thought corona park was a great place for a festival. really hope that isn't a one and done deal and that others could get in on it.
we curated our day to do our best to avoid the well-known negatives of this fest and it pretty much worked. rolled up shortly before black midi and there wasn't much of a crowd there yet. black midi played a fun set and are always worth seeing. think they made a great move losing the saxophone at their shows which i thought made their sound a little too muddy and have their keyboardist playing bass now, with their original bassist on guitar, so you're back to the schlagenheim-era live sound which i think suits them best.
after black midi went and hung out in one of the 21+ lounges (which basically felt like a VIP area because of how young the crowds were, it was great) until pusha t, who did a slightly abbreviated version of what i saw him do last year in boston. wish he hadn't dropped numbers on the boards but i can't tell you how much i love hearing the daytona songs live and the features/hits runthrough at the end is a ton of fun. at the beginning of his set got sucked into the younger more rowdy part of the crowd which i wasn't really wanting, so during the first song we dipped out to the edge of the crowd on the left, where there was plenty of room and non-dusty grass and had a great view still.
got food after and lines weren't too bad (good options too!) then again posted up in one of the lounges that felt like a VIP area until kendrick where we parked ourselves between best kept secret lounge and the soundboard. really good career-spanning setlist that fits very well as a festival headliner. will go over very well at bonnaroo. we got asked to take a picture during nosetalgia (poor timing!!!) by some kids in front of us with a point and shoot digital camera - they tried to explain to us how it worked. we KNOW HOW. that was the worst but also best "i'm old" moment of the day.
overall, thought it was well-run and $99 felt worth going out there for the 3 sets that i caught and probably would've been fine paying full single day price without the promo. won't be first in line next year but with a good single day lineup again and approaching the day the same way we did yesterday, i'd go back.
