Imo a smoothie is something you eat/drink on the go and not as a legit meal. But worse than the mixed fruits and vegs is probably "fruit". So many bad options..
the prompt doesnt specify that each of the items should be considered as a full meal on its own, or else something like sausage loses value because id want more than just sausage

I know somebody is going to come in with the "I love bacon THAT MUCH!" post but nobody just eats bacon on its own as the only thing for a breakfast meal. I dont see the argument that smoothie should be docked because you prefer it paired with something else. But you are additionally wrong about that because smoothie is a great option on its own.
my morning routine is blending a cup of almond milk, a couple squeezes of lemon juice, a peeled/cored apple, some blueberries, a hard boiled egg, a handful of unshelled peanuts, strawberries, some Nolan Ryan's ™ ground sausage crumbles, honey, and some wheat grass. game changer.

I mean, it depends on the kind of breakfast we're talking about, too. Most weekdays, I'm just looking to fuel up and GTFO, so it's not like I'm going to whip up a multi-ingredient omelette. On the other hand, I'm not going out for breakfast with Mrs. The Kraken and just ordering one smoothie, please.

im docking both bacon and smoothies for being not great on their own, along with a couple other ones there

Yogurt shouldn't be getting such a free pass here. Underwhelming breakfast option. Grits are just a vehicle for butter so I'm not sure they're making it to the end but going out first doesn't make me that much happier even if oatmeal stays.

actually i do like a heavily green smoothie. but when i think smoothie i think "smoothie king" and those are basically not-as-good-milkshakes. so not all smoothies are trash.
but a smoothie that is like 70% kale absolutely tears through your digestive tract in the best way. combine it with a cup of coffee and double your pleasure.
