We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

We are talking our ideal breakfast here right? Not what we eat on the daily because we are trying to keep up our Inforoo bodies. Just want to clarify. Because no one is eating yogurt and fruit over grits and biscuits and gravy if we have the choice, right? RiGHT?

i think the choice here is all encompassing. we must consider (1) taste, (2) satiation, and (3) nutrition. however, eventually one of these things will override the others. but for time being the correct answer is yogurt, because yogurt is gross and doesn't satiate and is nutritionally dubious.
grits is not the worst here. look, i'll turn in my southerner card if i have to by admitting that hash browns whoop the shit out of grits, but grits is still pretty good.

I give zero fucks over southern cards, I love some yogurt but you have to get the right kind so I get that hate. Fuck grits, though. Seriously. I have tried ALL different kinds and I just can't. I'm pretty sure it is a texture thing. All I know is my mouth says no the minute I put them in my mouth.

i do need to add a caveat to my yogurt comment: the Siggy's "triple fat" 9% yogurt is quite good. i think the creaminess of the fat cuts through that...stringent? taste that yogurt normally has. but if i close my eyes and grab a random yogurt off the shelf chances are it will taste like cough syrup.

Yogurt is delicious. And while it's not high in micronutrients, Greek yogurt or skyr packs a solid amount of protein per calorie plus you get those lovely probiotics. Put some blueberries and granola in there and you're doing good. If we're just talking Yoplait or whatever though, yeah that's kinda just like semisolid milk candy.
I really only eat grits with shrimp at lunch/dinner. I can't think of a time i've ever gone out to breakfast and picked grits over hashbrowns or something.

All of this. I personally love noosa yogurt the best. Super creamy and yummy. We have catering since they are shooting at the stage where our mill is today. Usually I get my avocado toast with bacon and a side of fruit. Today the special was smoked sausage, hashbrowns, over easy egg with avocado and a jalapeño emulsion. Talk about delicious.
Also, bacon is fucking delicious and should not have votes yet.

Grits is never something that gets eaten by itself. First of all it needs salt and butter, then you mix in your scrambled eggs, you can even throw your bacon or sausage in there. It’s also great with shrimp but that’s not for breakfast.
