1 hour and 20 min (or less) for LCD seems like a short set time for them, no?
In any case, for those that went to Cruel World and/or Just Like Heaven and watched the headliners, do y'all think it's feasible to watch all of Kelly Lee Owens and still get a relatively close spot for LCD? Weighing whether to watch KLO or just camp at Fairway during Le Tigre.
There will be much dancing, youll be fine moving up. Just leave kelly one song early so you miss that exodus along with Jorja Smith.
This Ain't No Picnic, more like This Ain't No Schedule. Everything conflicts with each other, dang. That said, I agree.. Id also spend a big time in Despacio (it'll also prob constantly be packed, so guessing once you're out, you're out for a while).
I've regretted not spending more time at Despacio when it was at Coachella in 2016 so I'm planning to get a lot more of it at this fest. But there are sure a lot of conflicts that might tempt me away.
For what, an event that will fill up with lazy af west siders who will go just cause it says the strokes?
do you know if there’s gonna be any side shows?
At this point unsure. Like I said a page or 2 ago if theres anything significant theyll keep it last minute so it wont affect fest ticket sales. My money would go on a Le Tigre warm up show as being the only big thing that could come up. But i figure tthey do it at the roxy not the fonda. Should also factor in a handful of notable acts are gonna be taking a red eye back to LA for the fest. Idles and caroline are in the uk 2 days before. Turnstile is on the east cost opening for mcr.

Anyone staying near the City Terrace area of LA? Coming with a friend and looking to rideshare to and from the festival (more so at the end of the night). Will pitch in $$$ and a beer or two. DM me.
1/2 price VIP tickets going on StubHub. Found some in the $350 range yesterday. Cheapest one today is $400/fees.
Starting to think people are gonna give tickets away next week.
My parents wanted to go VIP Saturday only. It was cheaper to buy them two 2-day VIP passes on StubHub ($695.93 total), then two 1-day VIP passes through the festival ($958.00 total), which is just mind-blowing. They get to go VIP Saturday, then I get to use their VIP passes on Sunday for free.
Makes me feel like a sucker for buying two 2-day GA tickets for $668.00 from the festival way back when this went on sale. I could have waited and gotten VIP for essentially the same price. I'm probably never buying a mainstream festival ticket at face value again after all the resale crashes we've seen lately. (Of course, some exceptions like Glastonbury, Newport Folk, etc.).
Cant imagine what everyone would think if they saw the gv employee discount tix for the fest.
Any sense of whether this thing is selling well enough to warrant a 2023 edition?
Considering The Rose Bowl is the spot for GV now theyll keep putting stuff on there. I think they can do another one but what mix of acts can you get to make it a sure fire seller. Theyre stretched pretty thin between that and All Points East in the uk happening the same week which has a decent amount of crossover. Cost will just be the main hurdle. You know most of us now will go into a buy later mindset anyway.

If PSLA folds, that would presumably help sell more tickets to future editions of TANP, even if they keep it the same genre mix (plus it might be a better overall lineup if they no longer have to compete with PSLA).
The VIP passes I bought for my parents were just transferred to my AXS account, and the AXS transfer email shows the event as: "This Ain't No Picnic 2022 (Aug 27th - 28th) - Internal "
Note the word internal. I wonder if these were the crazy cheap GV employee tickets that suprefan mentioned that some employee bought to resell. Or, maybe this is how it always shows the event name, idk.

Yeah, thats it. I wont give out the pricing til the fest passes so you can see the margins.
And a lot of people are getting comps but this is funny. They probably got multiples so theyre slinging an extra or 2.
If each festival is plastered with sponsors and advertising, something Primavera is certainly willing to do, both could easily survive
If Primavera went sponsor heavy like they do with Barca then the ticket wouldnt cost almost $500 for the weekend. They wouldve been able to cut the legs out from GV by offering tickets around the cost of Barca and people wouldve been all over it. So thats on them for thinking the american audience will just hand over money for anything.
finally had a chance to dig into set times. So much of this is going to be vibes-based since the lineup is so good, but in the abstract:
Sat: half hour of Dave P-Hana Vu-Dawn Richard-first half of Peach-Genesis Owusu-Julia Jacklin-Ying Yang Twins-Ethel Cain-back half of Earl Sweatshirt-Isaiah Rashad-back half of Mac DeMarco-Despacio til it closes-end of Le Tigre-LCD
Sun: Zulu-[anyone have recommendations for 1-2?]-Mike Watt-Sofia Kourtesis-Despacio-Wet Leg-last half hour of TSHA-Avalon Emerson-Phoebe Bridgers-end of Four Ten x Floating Points-Godspeed
