I have a feeling it will be very easy to get tickets to this. I don't think FYF sold that well in its last few iterations, this is more expensive and harder to get to. I might wait around if I can't get early bird pricing.

Half of me wants to get tickets immediately, the other half wants to wait for some cheap Stubhub tickets which seem almost inevitable.

yeah I'm torn on that detail, but probably going to book the Airbnb sooner than later

I don't think we should underestimate the Strokes effect. Yes, they just did a Forum show, but it had been sold out for like two years before the show actually took place, and they caused FYF's first quick sellout when they played. They have a pretty rabid fanbase, and I could see some of their substantial Mexican audience driving up from Baja too. Phoebe's Greek shows sold out immediately too, so there's probably also a younger demographic interested here that wasn't interested in Just Like Heaven. Would love to be proven wrong and have easy early bird pricing, though!
So theyres def going to have to be 3 stages and Despacio is a 4th for sure. I mean they crammed in 25 bands at Just Like Heaven when it was in Long Beach on 2 stages. So there will have to be an electronic stage I figure. Tough thing will be curfew cause I dont think Pasadena will let them go past 11. So LCD/Strokes would have to go on at 9:30 at the latest. That was the nice thing about FYF at The Coliseum since they were able to go til 2am on Saturday which helped spread out the schedule a bit better. If you split the days into how the poster is designed then there is 38 one day and 40 the other.
I wouldn’t be shocked if Sean Carlson was secretly behind this.
Even if I showed you the texts about that an hour ago, you still would say I was talking out of my ass potentially confirming that.
Supre, if you weren’t such an insufferable douche, people here would actually take you seriously. Stop acting like a cock and people here would actually start liking you.
It was mostly the Despacio part that hurt. I miss Despacio so much.
Despacio is certainly cool but it’s not like you can’t go out every weekend in New York and see world class DJs on great sound systems.
I dunno - just my personal take, but Despacio is the best dance party experience I've ever had.
Part of this might also be that I had tickets to an installment of it here for April 4, 2020. Its cancelation was the first in what would become a giant shitpile of disappointments brought about by the pandemmy.

I agree with this, especially if they don't do single-day tickets. Sea.Hear.Now did that this past year, and the Pearl Jam die-hards bought up a ton of passes.

As a counterpoint, the day The Strokes headlined was the only day of Ohana Fest that didn't sell out a couple of years ago IIRC.
Honestly this feels like it pulls the exact audience that FYF used to pull, maybe more NY Punk focus on this one. I never made it to FYF, how hard was it to get tickets? I know the Janet/Florence year flopped hard but what about prior to that? I'm guessing capacity for both is around 25k

FYF was always easy to get tickets for, and the Rose Bowl grounds might even have a larger capacity but I can't confirm. Even single-day passes didn't always sell out for FYF. I couldn't make it in 2017 and ended up having to sell my wristband for way below face value.

FYF was 45,000 when sold out on a day in 2017. Pasadena Daydream was 30,000 for the single day and with 2 stages. Head In The Clouds last month was probably about the same since they had the same set up. From what I can find, originally Arroyo Seco was proposed as a 90,000 per day and they cut that down by a lot since they didnt use all of the space at the Rose Bowl like they had presented to the city in 2016. So lets say its 50,000.
Here is what Goldenvoice had proposed set up wise 5 years ago. Cant imagine how many more people would be allowed if they expanded to that optional stage. Although maybe they should try to have a stage inside the stadium to ease congestion from the rest of the festival, but just not as big? Turn the Rose Bowl into a club?

Filtered through my own taste of course, but I feel like this lineup overall will appeal to Strokes fans more than Ohana. I considered traveling to Ohana that year but it would have been for The Strokes and a few bands I could see cheaper locally.

I went to Arroyo Seco the Neil Young year and even with the old people sitting in chairs taking up a bunch of space it never felt that crowded. Plenty of space. The 90k per day Supre mentioned sounds crazy though, Bonnaroo doesn't even accommodate that.
