I hope Sean Carlson isnt behind this. But if he is it would save me money
Stacy Vee and Jenn Yacoubian’s names are on this via HITS Daily Double but I’ve heard Carlson has still been working low-key with GV. A lot of people at GV were really good friends with him so it’s not like he got completely cut out of their lives.

Ok, so that confirms the 6 stage thing. ( 5 plus despacio ) So how spread is it gonna be, they have the main stage and then possibly 2 paired up side to take on the bulk of artists each day and then 2 others elsewhere.
I still think it'll be 3 stage footprints plus Despacio. When JLH had the rotating stage I think each side had it's own name so maybe they are using 2 rotating stages lol
Edit: oops, nope. The rotating stage was just called the Strange as Angels stage, not a different name for each side

Once I counted up the bands I wanted to see I couldn’t justify 300+. I feel this is a hard sell if you don’t love the strokes or LCD. Should be a fun weekend though

I'm at 27 bands I would want to see on the lineup and that's not including the Strokes or LCD (who both are not a big draw for me). I'll probably add a handful more once I dive into the lineup in the coming months. Plus going to a festival that I don't have to pay for travel or lodging saves me a few hundred dollars as well.

I’m at 20. 15 if you discount acts I’ve seen before. None of those acts minus Godspeed and Phoebe would have tickets above $50
Anything over 15 a day can justify $150 per day. You take it that 9 of those you really want to see and you’ll see 6 due to set times plus other surprises. Worth it.
I'm at 27, but i don't recognize a good bit of the undercard. This is one of those rare festivals where there's really no one I wouldn't watch... Maybe id skip Phoebe Bridgers but I probably should watch her live at least once. I'm just totally burnt out on hearing her... She's been on rotation ad nauseam for about a year on indie radio.
Anyway, that's how I judge festivals now, I only go to the ones that I wouldn't skip too many bands

I’d definitely check out Magdalena Bay, Genesis Owusu, Spirit of the Beehive, Sofia Kourtesis, and Spellling if you haven’t already
Just thinking about the 5 stage thing, they could potentially still add some acts. Anyone want to consider that some of the potential Coachella acts that chose spring dates might be added to this after they come through?

Big added expense is travel. If I'm still living with my parents and can convince them to spend a few days in L.A. that's one thing. If I'm "alone" that's a different ballgame.

The last time I saw Spellling was in a basement club with 50 other people. The way she performed, you’d think she was playing a sold out MSG show.
Prima also gives way more bang for your buck. a wk1+2 ticket for prima barca is the same price as one coachella weekend. tho who knows how this will compare

the biggest draw for this show tickets wise might be Kaytranda I think

Me and Mrs Flair had the long chat about it tonight and realized that spending 2k+ to do this just wouldn't be worth it 😥 sick lineup but fuck those tickets are expensive

I learned a long time ago that if I start that conversation off with Mrs. GL, you just say “So Sleep is playing this festival..” and it magically cuts your expenses in half.

He's also very close friends with the Primavera Sound folks, so wouldn't be shocked if he did a lot of brokering between the two as to who got what so everyone could come out happy.
Given folks on this board are finding it so tough to justify the prices for TANP and Prima LA and we're the target demo, I may sit out on-sales for both and hope neither sells out and take some time to decide what I want to go to.
Just noticed Just Like Heaven isn't sold out yet and they still list pricing as "Saturday" on their site, which kind of implies to me they were going to announce Friday after a near-immediate sell-out like they did last year but it didn't sell out :/
