Sure hope Osees are on board! Kinda weird to have a TX date, then back to New Mexico...But they could play that Saturday or Sunday if Daze and the band really want to make it happen.

Yea, they can totally make it happen. I hope they do!

Man, that's 2 long ass drives. They'd pretty much have to leave Austin to try and get to Cali to play Sunday, then a 12 hour drive back to new Mexico. Unless they're fancier than I thought and fly
Another up and coming band that would fit *perfectly* at Daze is Slow Crush...I foolishly forgot to include them in my Top Albums of 2021 List (which will be fixed after this post), but their balanced blend of shoegaze/gloom would be right at home at this fest...Check their latest album, Hush below:

Do you think DD would pay to fly them out? They got a good history between them...

Maybe? I have no clue how all that works. All my friends tour in vans
Do Osees have a new record coming out? I love them but I saw them in October and it felt like the same set they've been playing for a couple years now. If they've got a new record, I'd be down for them playing DD again.

dweyer has been steadily releasing stuff but off top of my head no new OSees teases
I wouldn't mind seeing John Carpenter in the desert. I missed his last tour in 2018 but my friend said it was epic.
Saw him at Primavera Sound Barcelona in 2016, amazing show! But it’d be a bummer not to have the video display going too. Part of the fun was seeing him perform with clips from his films. Guessing DD will go back to a multi stage event, but couldn’t picture him playing with the 2021 set up.

When they played Austin last time for Hotel Vegas 10 year anniversary, it was a one off and they drove straight from California. Wouldn't put it past those maniacs to do it again.

They did do the flylo 3d thing a couple of years back...

Daze only went with the scaled back 1-stage version last year due to COVID, and a lot of last minute planning they had to do to get it off the ground.
Phil already confirmed that they will be returning to the full scale, multi-stage format of previous Dazes.

It would be very cool and proper for her to FINALLY make it to Daze, considering she had to bow out once (or was it twice?) around the 2016-2017 editions.
Her new single sounds great, much better to me than most of the songs off of her second album.

Yeah she canceled two tours. Last time I saw her was a decade ago opening for The Raveonettes which is crazy to think about.
I really love Bon Voyage but it took a while to grow on me. I think some of the songs would sound great live.
Tune in for monthly curated programming by Desert Daze leading up to this year's music festival. Expect DJ sets, interviews, and hangouts featuring artists from this year’s festival lineup."
Still, I think this is a new thing, and this might be the way we get the lineup eventually as well as various updates/hints/teasers along the way.
Seeing the prices of the "when we were young fest" for one day vs the price of my early bird DD tickets for 3 days of the beach makes me feel like a winner, with the added bonus of not having to listen to 12 hours of Emo

FOR REAL.
It's not my scene at all, but it's too bad that emo fans are dishing out so much dough for the majority of the fest's bands that'll play super short sets...All crammed into 1-Day. F*ck that setup, but what else would one expect from Live Nation?
