Just got back to Atlanta. Had a great fest that was made better by meeting several of yall. It's a long quest but for the right lineup I would definitely come back. They need to figure out how to handle the Uber/Lyft situation for the future but overall I thought it was pretty well run. Some of the best fest food I've had, especially for vegetarians. Aldous Hardings set was good but her not playing The Barrel took that set from a top one of the weekend to me now resenting her lol.
1. Tame Impala (big surprise. wasn't hype for this and it blew me away) 2. Dakhabraka - The other big surprise of the weekend. Had planned to slip away for the Marias but couldn't be torn away. So good 3. Gizz 4. jpegmafia 5. Sleaford Mods 6. Charlotte Adigery 7. Shame 8. Viagra Boys 9. BCNR 10. Beach House
I completely forgot about the whole barrel thing. We tried so hard to get an encore and they finally realized we weren't going away and turned on the music.
That's right up there with MGMT never playing kids lol

I'd be so happy if they announce a solution to that, but I'm not holding my breath. As non-campers, getting in and out was a drag and expensive. After taking 90 minutes to get an Uber and paying 4x surge pricing Friday night, we decided driving it would be better. Day parking was $45 plus $11 service fee, and we had to stop at the box office to get the pass, which involved waiting in line for them to search our vehicle even though we weren't camping, then we had to park over a mile from the entrance.
That stuff aside, it was great seeing friends, the music was almost universally fantastic, the food was good, it's easy to get from stage to stage (though it kinda sucks that you have to watch out for holes in the grass) and the lake is a great setting.
There's a certain timeless feel that I love about the fest. While a handful of acts are more of-the-moment (Charlotte Adigery and Bolis Pupil, say), most of them play styles that you could've heard at a SoCal festival decades ago. Like watching Mildlife, I could close my eyes and almost imagine it was Alan Parsons Project haha. And the venue certainly has an old-school feel with few if any modern touches, for better or worse. The lack of cell reception meant a lot fewer people were on their phones, which was kind of nice. It's a fun vibe for sure.

seems like a good idea for the parking and ride share issues might be to use the tram they were using for the overflow camping. if they expanded that program and ran the tram over to the parking lots it would probably help with some of the issues.

That's a really great idea. Just get more of those, and that would help alleviate this mess to a better extent.
And yeah like gazer pointed out - with cell phone service being crappy, you definitely get less phones in the air and people looking down at their phones. Which results in attendees being there, in the moment, taking it all in.

All they have to do is create a wifi hotspot in the rideshare lot area and let you call a car. Dodger stadium has that in their rideshare pickup spot. Its not that expensive of a thing to invest in and solves a lot of issues.
A hotspot in the rideshare lot would be a great step, but a big part of the problem was that when we'd finally connect on Lyft or Uber and have a ride booked, the driver would cancel once they saw they had to drive into the park. Then we'd be back to square one. I don't know if it would help for DD to contact the ride share companies ahead of time and let them know there will be a need for drivers. Maybe it wouldn't be worth the drivers' time.

Bish you were wrong…..again. I really don’t understand your logic about posting false info if you’re just gonna eat crow later. Glutton for punishment? Need for interaction at all costs?
So when it goes belly up after this then what. Theyre still trying to pay bands from last year but I guess thats perfectly fine from a finance standpoint in your eyes.
I’m going to revisit this post when they have presale for next year. This will not be the last DD. Really not sure where you’re getting this information about last years bands would love to be enlightened…
Just came here to say that this dude knows nothing, is almost always wrong, and creates a negative environment in this thread. DD IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE.
Man, $99/$199 bundles would be great to see again. Here's hoping!
If that was going to be that same deal I think this time they potentially limit the amount of tickets sold that way so they can spark interest. Would assume a lot more people will buy a $99/$199 considering whats happening financially.

I was definitely surprised that they were available for so long last time. Either way, I'll jump on them right away.
Hoping they give priority or some sort of access to those who bought them last year.
There really isn't a need to. They were available for like 4-6 months last year.
Yeah, cause they needed the money.
A good move is to say "we're doing $99 ga and $199 camping for 72 hours. Next tickets will be full price when lineup drops." 3 days is enough for you to get your ticket and tell anyone who is interested to buy. They sell what they sell and thats it. Obviously a lot of the first time people or single day attendees can see it will def be worth the low price point even if you ultimately went one day if there was a headliner that was going to draw on ala Tame. We all know its going to be tough next year for picking which fest to go to and such just based on budget, so why not invest now at a low price and you alleviate some future stress.
