2 GA with camping bundles purchased! the early bird price is a steal and makes the cost of camping a little easier on the purse. now I just need to get a vehicle pass when they go on sale.
TANP -> PSLA -> Daze is going to be a fun few weeks.
Catching up on this thread, just added DD to the top of my "festivals to attend in 2022" list after Roo's lineup today.
TANP and PSLA - abbreviations for?

Wet Leg and Idles are at Picnic. Wet Leg look to be booking another run of shows around it since they announced a vancouver date a couple days before, so youll get another chance.
Speaking of Blonde Redhead, is Tool too much of a white whale booking?
I’ve wondered this before and I think the answer is no? They just don’t seem “cool” enough or in the right circle of artists IMO. But “ever” is a long time and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it happen eventually
EDIT: I totally forgot TWOD headlined last year, MMJ doesn’t feel too far off from them so maybe it’s more possible than I assumed

I don't expect idles, but wet leg has to be small enough to get around a radius clause, right?
I don't think Phil wants to deal with tool fans any more than he wants to deal with mmj fans to be honest. But tool would bring my entire old bonnaroo crew out to California is it were to happen. Plus I'm sure the money isn't there, bot to mention the production value they would demand for the sets

I'm not sure what could be cooler than this:
I'm a fan of the TWOD (don't enjoy new album as much as others) but think Jacket would be an upgrade in that slot.
I haven't seen MMJ since 2008 so a Desert Daze set would be great but not sure they are the best fit.
Samesies...Although it could be cool, I don't think they'll end up on the lineup.
I'm expecting a lot of their favorite/friend bands to play, such as Warpaint, Death Valley Girls, LA Witch, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Wand, Chelsea Wolfe, Pond, etc. But they always bring in some new blood, and since this is the 10th Edition again, Phil will undoubtedly include some cool surprises and unique gets.
I hate that were probably going to have to wait until July for a lineup drop
Damn, super pessimistic eh?!
It has varied, year-to-year, when and how the lineup is released.
In 2016-2018, the lineup was released in various phases. I think in 2016 the lineup came in 4 Phases (first two being the main ones), in 2017 it was 3 Phases...In 2018 it was like 5 or 6 phases. Anyways you catch my drift.
For 2019, the only recent year I didn't go, I think it also was released in several phases. So they only broke from that pattern for 2021, for obvious reasons since the fest was scaled back.
My guess is that we get their 1st Phase/Transmission in March/April, and a final lineup by July. That would more or less stick with the timeline in past years.
I was being facetious. Just feels like he takes his time these days with the lineups. When do they usually drop?
Considering the competition already announced their line ups they have a easy path to start their roll out. Barring anyone they might have from Coachella ( like king gizzard ) they just wait for the fest to end and can do what they have to do. So end of April early May looks to be the sweet spot. With the $99 early sale it just puts a lot of buyers at ease since they didnt spend a fortune on a ticket.
My wishlist in no particular order off the top of my head:

It would be beyond AMAZING if Sault finally performed live, and if we were lucky enough to have them at Daze. If I didn't have a ticket already, that alone would get me to the fest.
Been jamming Crows this morning because of their new single, and they would fit in great at Daze...Just some food for thought. Check out a live set from them last year:
If they booked MMJ, I’d hope it’s would be a “MMJ Plays…” set and not a standard festival set for them.
MMJ covering a whole album would be super cool, but I don't know if them playing through one of their albums would do much more for me than a typical set.

Unless it was It Still Moves AND Z
I wanna see them do Tennessee Fire again, as that was by far the best of the Terminal 5 run. Either that or At Dawn would fit this festival well. ITM would be 3rd and Z 4th IMO. As far as crowd draw…I have no idea. Does MMJ even matter anymore?

Sault seems to be a weird password with people... If you play them or mention them to people who know, they get SO EXCITED like you're in a secret club. And it seems to cross genres with people too

It really is a secret club! I would lose it if SAULT was there. I didn't put them in my wishlist since they haven't toured yet and I don't know if they will but that would be something else.

They matter...not sure to the DD crowd, haven't been before, but they matter!
A lot of the Jacket fans I meet on the road are really into groups/artists like: King Gizz, Khruangbin, Tame Impala, Ty Segall just to name a few - there's some crossover!
I didn't even realize they've put out 5 albums in 2 years. Instant headliner status lol. That's some real King giz shit
Yeah! 5 and Untitled (Rise) are my favorites. Their newest one was a timed release, it's not on streaming or anything, but it was available on vinyl and for a free download for a short time. Let me know if you need it, I could email it to you.

And I imagine Sault will release an album at some point this year. Although I liked Nine, it was a bit of a step down from both Untitled albums. Which is not really a knock on the group, considering the amazing high bar they reached on those two albums.

Certainly not trying to offend, but MMJ have been stuck at the same level career wise since 2008. They made the leap from a club act to a theater/amphitheater act and never sustainably translated into arenas. They’re certainly on the level of Ween and Flaming Lips, though.
Personally, I miss their special shows where they’d purposefully play deep cuts and rarities. I feel like those are few and far between now days. So it’d be cool to see them at DD doing an old LP and not playing newer songs from Waterfall II and MMJ, which I think are dismal compared to their earlier catalogue.
