Too many ideas popping into my brain today. When's the last time "Man or Astroman?" played anything
Last I read (a month or so ago) they were working on a new EP. I think they have a handful of shows lined up for the spring, but I could be wrong about that.
Even though they're the ones booking it, I assume this means they're out for DD?
Naw, theyre probably in. The shows being the last ones and all should sell out. Then it has zero effect on DD. DD can wait til phase 3 to announce them if they had to.
But with that, the Gizz RR shows and ACL all in a couple week span it would be unlikely. Levitation is so close to us, as well, even though Daze seems like a way better experience than seeing three nights worth of shows at Mohawk, Stubbs and Empire.

Makes sense! I’m banking on Gizz playing at Desert Daze and doing a marathon set or something special there, since I have to sell my ticket to the Berkeley marathon show that weekend.

They matter...not sure to the DD crowd, haven't been before, but they matter!
A lot of the Jacket fans I meet on the road are really into groups/artitsts like: King Gizz, Khruangbin, Tame Impala, Ty Segall just to name a few - there's some crossover!
Certainly not trying to offend, but MMJ have been stuck at the same level career wise since 2008. They made the leap from a club act to a theater/amphitheater act and never sustainably translated into arenas. They’re certainly on the level of Ween and Flaming Lips, though.
Personally, I miss their special shows where they’d purposefully play deep cuts and rarities. I feel like those are few and far between now days. So it’d be cool to see them at DD doing an old LP and not playing newer songs from Waterfall II and MMJ, which I think are dismal compared to their earlier catalogue.
Way behind here, there's a whole back story here that we don't need to get into but I think their commerical plateau in 2008 was by design to a degree.

So you want to say that DD isnt allowed to book anyone from JLH or even Cruel World because of their dates in May, even though those acts would be free of that after the fest ends and could be announced in a Phase 2 a couple months later without any issue. Why does HARD Summer announce the Monday after Coachella Weekend 2 and has plenty of acts booked from there who just played and face no consequences for a return in August. Hell, Im sure Primavera La might have to wait til Coachella ends to announce a few more adds, but obviously DD cant do the same thing for some random reason.
