Well the “don’t say gay” bill officially passed today, making Florida a supremely fascist state. I gotta switch my vote. The margs will have to be somewhere else.
It's amazing how Boston has this horrible reputation for being racist, when most of America in general is pretty fucking racist. Tell me that your city or state is NOT. You can't.
For the record, Massachusetts has had a black governor before. Boston's current mayor is the daughter of Taiwanese immigrants, and the one before her was a black woman.

A counterpoint: Boston has also given us nine Wahlberg siblings.

NYC’s mayor is black and he is literally so pro police, anti poor, and very much against any ideological methods that would lead to restorative justice for the greater black community in the city.
Also Clarence Thomas is black and he is literally a Jan 6th supporter 😬

That doesn't make them racist, it just means they support policies you disagree with.

“Some of my closest friends are Black” energy here my dude.
Some places are worse than others about different things. No need to defend it.

This isn't about me disagreeing with the mayor's policies (though I do!). Racism is systemic. I have no energy pre-shift to explain how being pro-police is being anti-black in any given American metropolitan city. I'm not talking in terms of "hey my cop cousin is a good guy", I'm talking giving a superfluous amount of money to our police rather than social services or public education. There are plenty of resources that can help illuminate the correlation.

My ex-gf loves Mark Wahlberg, which should of been a huge red flag

Wasn't trying to go that way.
I'm just saying, everyone knows Boston is racist and I'm not denying that. But racism isn't just a Boston thing.
Miami is the most diverse city. Has amazing food. Incredible winter/spring weather. No curfew for concerts and events. Killer music scene.
I don’t dislike Miami, but it doesn’t even crack the top 10 in diversity by any reputable metrics. It might not even be the most diverse city in Florida - one study I saw had Jacksonville and Tampa ranked higher
Fuck some Chicago hate. I got gold level access to the city when I was engaged to someone up there. I had wonderful food, drinks, sights, walks and times.
when they finish the MSG Sphere y'all are going to be seeing my morning jacket or whatever band you love there and you'll be like "las vegas is the greatest city in the world i feel deep shame for voting them out round 6 of inforoo city survivor, postjack was right, i should've listened to him, i will listen to postjack in the future."
I'm looking at it right now. I'm at an outdoor event and it's 55 and rainy. Vegas can get fucked.
Lived in South Florida for over 10 years and agree that Miami should be voted off. Still visit family regularly and find the place more insufferable each year.

Y'all wanna talk dope Mexican? Come on over to Pilsen or Little Village sometime, it's good shit. I only recently realized how spoiled I was growing up with it.
Also, the history of immigration to Chicago is fucking fascinating.
But I'll save the "this is why Chicago is awesome" spiel for later.
Sure, this city's fucked up, but I love it anyway.

the warmth of other suns is a brilliant book. Unfortunately there's too many good research projects and biographies about the tenements as well
