All will be forgiven when they post about the new Bjork album tomorrow
But in all seriousness, been pretty pleased with all the names thus far. Nothing too surprising but I'm sure they have some tricks up their sleeve. Will be hard to top last year but I trust them

700 Bliss, Grouper, and Cécile McLorin Salvant already have me excited for the programming this year. I can't remember much of the social media rollout stuff from last year's lineup outside of Sparks but I wasn't particularly plugged. I expect the lineup to be fantastic considering how successful '21 was.

Usually by now, I’m way more excited. Agreed on 700 Bliss and Grouper. Also a really interested in that Anne Lockwood. This Morby tease has me a tad bit giddy too.
Is anyone else just feeling whelmed at this point? I like Nate and all but I’m missing a lot of WOW factor with these teases.
I’ve been feeling like the line up, since what should have been the 2020 set, had fewer “omg” names, but an overall much higher consistency. In other words, my spreadsheet’s “must see” column had fewer checkmarks, but I had a much higher total of combined “must see” and “want to see” sets, then I did previously.
I chalk some of that up to getting older and seeing a LOT of shows The other part is that the balance between NPR and, say, Wire Magazine aesthetics does seem to be tipping more to the former side. Whereas my “must see” list would tend to fall on the latter side.
But let’s see what happens in 2 weeks. I’m in, regardless.
I agree but after talking through it, I realize that it would move tickets locally. A lot of the complaints I hear is there isn’t a lot of names people know. This would remedy that in one swoop. Plus I could see a Terry Allen > Brandi show happening.
My biggest issue is unless they add a bigger venue (the Tennessee is the largest at 1,700 capacity), I don’t know where they’d put her. Then I go back to that interview with AC saying they wanna add more venues and it becomes clearer.

Yeah Brandi is definitely bigger than any of the names from last year, but I didnt think the Tennessee ever felt super full last year either despite the sellout
She’s playing both MSG and TD Garden this tour. That’s a huge step from the Tennessee. When I saw Wilco at at Big Ears it was one out, one in before they even took the stage. If she played there, it would be the same thing.
She is doing a ton of solo shows (pretty sure I’m seeing one that’s outdoors) but it’s still gonna be packed.
Hadnt heard of them before the tease but this is badass
Ok, so I was initially *REALLY* blown away. It was just such a surreal performance... but then I realized my Spotify was playing Mountains underneath it.
Still very cool, but not nearly as wonderfully weird as what I was initially listening to

I can follow you around the set and play Mountains from a shitty set of phone speakers if you want.
