Gonna be honest. I’m not sure this is a tease or a reminder about the tour. Majority rules. You tell me.
I havent paid attention to this in past years but I guess I'd assumed most posts not related to last year were about artists from this year's lineup
They do specifically call them alums and it tags them both though, think you might be right it's just doing them a solid. Dont dislike either artist but wouldn't shed a tear if they weren't on the poster either

We'll find out for sure in 6 days I guess!
This year feels different in the way they’re doing it. They’ve always had returning artists. Usually how you know they’re playing is if they get another tease before the drop.
I’ve listed it as possible, fwiw. Bird has played before but I’m not sure I&W has. If they tease them again, I’ll move it up.
I suppose we should consider Bjork a possibility now, too.
I would die and then resurrect myself and immediately buy a ticket. Shes right at the the top of my bucket list
There isn’t any evidence more than a new album and playing festivals this fall in other countries. The reason I never considered her was there was no where to play. Now there’s a bigger venue and I feel like at bare minimum she’s a possibility.
And yeah, insta buy for me too.
I’m gonna have to do payment plan so I’m thinking I’ll go Premier but I may choke on that $500 price tag when purchasing. I just blew $1.5k on tickets a few months ago and haven’t recovered from that yet.
I suppose we should consider Bjork a possibility now, too.
Take it or leave it, but I can say from direct conversations in 2017 that Knoxville Civic has been on the table for many years with Bjork as a primary reason. Apparently there was a vision for a whole Iceland program in 2018 that never fully materialized. Obviously this doesn't actually have any information about 2023, but none of this is new internally at AC.
Just caught this show at Nelsonville and it was absolutely top five of the weekend. Completely blown away. Luke Schneider on steel with him. Felt like the spaced-out groove sections of Z-era My Morning Jacket (or "Shine On You Crazy Diamond") stretched out. Really really impressed with this album and project.

Thanks for updating the list of hints, garageland! Of all that have been teased, I'm most excited for: Annea Lockwood, Caterina Barbieri, Sam Gendal, Grouper, Nate Smith, Rich Ruth, and Charlotte Adigéry + Bolis Pupul.
I assume we'll see a bunch of repeat artists given the 10 year celebration... I'd love to see the following return: A Winged Victory for the Sullen, Ahleuchatistas, Bing & Ruth, Jerusalem in my Heart, Julie Byrne, Kamasi Washington, Mimi Goese & Ben Neill, Moses Sumney, Roedelius, Rushes Ensemble, Ryley Walker, and Swans.

I feel like I read Moses was taking a break but I’m right on with that list. Especially the AWVTS.
My big wants right now is Arca and Oneida. I’ve seen Oneida a ton and it’s always a blast but I love this new record a lot. Arca is another bucket list that I want to knock out soon.
Tom Skinner just released a new track off an upcoming record yesterday that blew me away. It’s on Nonesuch and International Anthem and we all know how much they love those labels. So that too.

Looks like we've got a leak. No Bjork or Brandi (yet? What on this lineup would go at Civic Aud?) but my god this goes deep for me. Another full Zorn program! William Parker doing Mayan Space Station! Reich quartets! Thrilled.

My NPR theory in full effect! I do enjoy Los Lobos, Rickie Lee Jones, Iron & Wine, etc... but... huh. And this festival sells out... so I'm assuming this isn't a move to sell more tickets; likely just the continued aesthetic shift I've noted in the last few years.
There's enough here that I'm excited to see and a bunch of names I need to research.

I like it. The inclusion of Bela and William Parker makes me think it’s right on. There’s always time for stuff to change but I think this is the bulk of it.
Zorn COBRA? Bill Orcutt? Ibeyi? That’s enough for me.

Well... I've ranked 43 of the names so far, and already have 16 names in the "Must See" column. I think seeing some of the bigger names threw me off a bit... there's a lot of amazing stuff happening here.
