What was the private subreddit for coachella recordings? I missed Fred Again.. and want to check it out to gauge how heavily to hype it to my crew.
Hype them the fuck up. It was electric on the stream - every Coachella there is that act that just has their "moment" at Coachella right before they blow the fuck up - like Maggie Rogers and Lizzo in 2019 - this was absolutely the set this year. There is zero chance I'd miss that set W2 if I was going. By the end of the show the entire Mojave was packed to the gills, every other girl was on somebody's shoulders, the whole crowd was jumping and dancing and when the beat for Marea dropped (right after "it will be marvelous") the roar from the crowd was so deafening that I was actually taken aback. Utterly electric shit man.
He will be closing the outdoor to an enormous crowd in 2024, if not 2023. You will never see this man play before the sun goes down at Coachella again.
The Glasto kid was way too nervous and awkward to be a plant IMO
Yeah I think the Glasto one was real. Their interaction before we went on the stage looks legit. Coachella one seems like a plant imo.
It was shown in the stream but Dave scanned the crowd to see who knew the song best. I lean towards real. Apparently the kid is the son of some famous British director so the celebrity child confidence tracks.

Yeah, I mean, I will - but I think most of my crew will want to do Maggie Rogers and I'm probably a little more into this stuff, and as much as it rules to drag someone to a show they die for, it sucks to pull them away from something else they want if they don't like what I drag them to. But the "this is going to be like Disclosure 2013 which we missed and all regret" take is probably the way. I'm betting almost nobody in my crew even knows who he is, I've tried sending songs like Marea and they've gotten lukewarm responses, which isn't encouraging.

I mean Maggie Rogers killed it too. If they are all Maggie fans they'll have a blast at that set, the crowd was huge and into it. I'd just go to Fred Again by myself then and meet up with them after.

Yeah, that's ultimately my plan. Whoever joins me will have a blast. I'm not missing Fred

Hmmmm. She would get into the Arcade Fire spot in Mojave easily with some shuffling.
Or now its an add for Saturday?
Pretty sure this is just the Ja glitch that they didn’t go about fixing yet. Jayda G shows Sunday too. I’d still plan on Japanese Breakfast playing Saturday.
I think the Dave kid was a plant. But hey, thanks for posting my vid. Kinda pissed it went to the wrong YT channel but its hard to upload post set while tryint to go somewhere else and hitting the wrong account.

Ok - five minutes into Fred Again and yes, that's all I can say. Yes.
Honestly. I thought it was made up on here because we’ve been having Couchellas since ~2014, if not earlier. I had never heard anyone else use it until like 2016/17ish. 😂😂
Probably earlier. I remember watching back when I lived in VA and I left there in 2012.
Monie, an update: I just had a Facebook update from 2009 about watching a Jenny Lewis Coachella stream so it goes back into at least then.
