Probably earlier. I remember watching back when I lived in VA and I left there in 2012.
Monie, an update: I just had a Facebook update from 2009 about watching a Jenny Lewis Coachella stream so it goes back into at least then.
The earliest version of a livestream was 2005. 2006 was their first like advertised one and such cause I have the video of Depeche Mode headlining . And its only half cause they only let them show that much.
absolutely. would love to catch a show one day but was virtually impossible on this last tour unless you 1. bought tickets before the pandemic or 2. coughed up an arm and a leg for nosebleeds
We had tickets pre-pandemic but he officially cancelled his Aussie tour earlier this year. So if he does come back here prob won’t be till mid-late 2023 at the earliest.
Welp. Live Nation just announced his tour here today. Explains why they were asking about purchaser data last week.
Fuckers cancelled the tour with us in like Jan/Feb just to re-announce it with all Ticketmaster venues today. I held on to tickets for nearly 2 years just to have to go buy them all over again and potentially get shut out. That’s such a shit look.

I mean Wet Leg is opening so big bonus. Hopefully he adds dates.

A friend of mine got on stage to rap with Run the Jewels at Lollapalooza a few years back and I think he was better than Spike was tbh. I don't think most things like this are plants
Dave has done it before at his shows. And all of those have been fans who werent totally spot on with the song which is expected. This one I felt when watching him choose and all that just gave impression of plant. I get that a lot of brits would be in that crowd but your odds are still not that favorable to pick one. Even in a football jersey to boot.

Dave has been on the lineup since 2020, there were definitely a few kids who started practicing that song the day the lineup dropped because everyone knew he was gonna call someone up on stage

I remember watching my first Coachella stream in 2009 when Morrissey stopped mid song to say that he hoped the smell of BBQ was human flesh. Good times.

I think I was eating a turkey leg or something in the back of the field when he said that. Oops.

I remember watching Portishead. Don’t know if that’s the first year they did it.
Theres some stream footage from 2005 that exists. But 2006 was the first proper stream as crude as that was.
There's footage earlier than 2005, but might be mainstage only or some other cherry picked acts for the older festival DVD. Pavement 1999 pro-shot is on YT. I've long wondered how early they go with HD video or if it's a couple cherry picked songs used in the newer Coachella documentary.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Didn’t get the chance to see slowthai and skipped RTJ because I didn’t have it in me to do main stage at the hottest part of Sunday. A lot of Sahara rap I’d also like to check out.
So which sets are people planning to rewatch with the second weekend of livestream coming up? Or catch that they didn't last weekend?
The schedule is far less music and more mini docs and such. Theyre going to show full Yuma sets this weekend though. Totally want those if people record them.
