Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Centennial Park is owned/operated by Georgia World Congress Center, but Georgia World Congress Center is owned by the State of Georgia, according to the interwebs. So, that's a no go.
If Georgia World Congress Center has a long term lease then doesn't that allow them to get around the problem?
/not a lawyer
If Georgia World Congress Center has a long term lease and meets the other criteria such that they are considered to have an "estate for years" over Centennial Park, and music festivals sub-lease through Georgia World Congress Center, then it's very possible...but I am also not a lawyer and this is beyond my level of expertise.
Do y’all think we’ll see anything from Shaky or Tim anytime soon or are we going to be waiting until November
Yeah hopefully we aren't having to wait until then to get confirmation. Worst case they proceed as if nothing is wrong then pull the plug a couple of months out. Let's hope that doesn't happen.
Trying not to fret about this for the next nine months. I rest all hope in the fact that Tim worked Exit 111 at Manchester (Bonnaroo) in 2019 and hopefully has that in play if he can't find a place to play ball in Atlanta.

I doubt LiveNation would wanna do that as they’d be wrecking the grounds just a month before their marquee event on that property.

With the improved paved roads in Centeroo, and over a month for pedestrian areas to recover, a potential concern might be camping area recovery. They had the Avett bros perform there for 2 nights 2 months prior to the scheduled 2021 Roo. And, there is always the money that might be on the table.

Exit 111 sold like dogshit. I love Shaky but they don’t really cater to a “will travel to nowhere Tennessee” base. They’re a city fest. Maybe AMS could work but that’s a bit of a stretch.
I wonder if a stadium parking lot is an option. Maybe Georgia State Stadium if it doesn’t conflict w graduation.

Do public universities not fall in the same category as public parks?

I think different rules apply to stadiums. All Georgia campuses have to allow carry but I believe stadiums are exempt.
Not sure if enough space but I wonder if they could do it in Nashville. First Tennessee Park / Bicentennial Mall area. Not quite as walkable from hotels and no public transit is a real problem though.
As much as I’d love for Shaky to move to Charlotte I don’t think there’s a park big enough to hold it.
There’s a proposal to create a Grant Park style park just north of Uptown using the Norfolk Southern rail yard, but that is no where close to actually happening.

It is seriously disheartening that one gun wingnut can ruin things for 50,000+ people just trying to enjoy some live music. He should be forced to stand in Piedmont Park, alone with his gun, for the entirety of the planned Music Midtown Festival to prove his rights were actually being violated. Seems like the only solution for SK would be to find private grounds for the festival. God knows the laws aren't going to change. Looks like surrounding states have similar open carry laws with respect to public/state lands. And moving out of downtown ATL defeats part of the festival's appeal anyway.

Let’s think positive
Would love to see Paolo Nutini next year. Tim loves his British acts and he hasn’t announced US dates yet so will probably play some shows here next year.

It'll never happen, but Shaky on the Farm where shows can go all night would be amazing. Keep The Other as an electronic stage, but with Primavera type electronic bookings.

Why does it have to be in another state. There has to be a large amount of land outside Atlanta that Shaky could use
