In my current state of unemployment/job hunting/scrambling to do whatever freelance work I can, it's like I'm in the bizarro version of the Morrissey song - instead of every day being like Sunday, Sunday is like every day.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

Went to a sushi place I’ve never been with a good friend, great food. Saw Joy Ride which was funny and wholesome. Ending with a $3.50 craft beer and a bike ride home through Cbus. Top-notch Sunday.
Sundays are the Tuesdays of my work-week. But hey, I woke up early to start reading Chuck Klosterman's The Nineties, went for a 2-mile run after work, and made $402 in tips absolutely busting ass during brunch & lunch service! I think I'll go across town and play some pinball now for a bit

Actually went to the ER today after a terrible experience at urgent care yesterday. Been having these really weird shooting pains in my veins on my right foot and leg and some twitching and pins and needles progressively getting worse for a week and worse when I sit. Which I have to do for work. Also a fever the last two nights and some fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and other shit. Anywho, went to the ER and didn't figure out the leg pain, but at least ruled out diabetes, blood clots, COVID, and a bunch of other shit. Not really sure what's going on, but am less convinced that I'm dying. Wife has been awesome and super supportive through all of it. And the ER staff were awesome and professional and respectful unlike the Urgent Care staff yesterday.
We ordered thai food delivery from a local spot and watched Showing Up. Overall feel better than the last two nights.

Coming up for air after playing video games for 8 hours. We door dashed & essentially sat on our asses doing nothing. Haven’t had one of those in a long time.
Sunday on Pensacola Beach with a buzz and a couple Andy gator tall boys. It’s sunny and 92 but the water is cold from recent thunderstorms so that is nice. Restaurant Iron for dinner and someone else is paying. Think I’m gonna get the scallops. Jumbo Atlantic scallops with sliced heirloom tomatoes shaved Vidalia onion, sweet corn purée and blood orange gastrique. Should be money.

this is what it’s all about brother
Yeah. Best meal I’ve had this year so far. We had chefs counter and talked to the sous chef who was running shit tonight a bit. The scallop dish was incredible and the heirloom beet salad as well. Always love coming home to Pensacola when I can be here.

Which pinball machines did you hit up?
That night I primarily played five machines at this spot Jupiter. Typically I hop around until I'm flowing on something and then I'll stick it out there. I played Medieval Madness, Attack From Mars, Godzilla (the new one, but not the special edition one), Cactus Canyon, and Sopranos.

Awesome. We found a Munsters machine at Cordova Lanes in Pensacola the other day and got a few games in. I’m really looking forward to going to the Asheville Pinball Museum in September if we end up taking that trip.

Munsters is one of my partner's favorite machines; she loves the little mini-game in the middle. I hope you do! We have a pinball museum here in Seattle that seems very similar in concept: $20 for all you can play pinball of games throughout the decades.

For sure. The whole family can play decently, so it would be on the agenda. Main thing I had to teach my kids when they were little was to independently work the flippers and be able to use what was taught to me by some older kids when I was young (the flex) which is also using them in a cooperative fashion to prevent drains. Video games got popular when I was in my teens, and I wasn’t ever that great at those. But I was known to be a good pinball player and can still pop some games.

Some awesome machines then! I've been to Jupiter and Shorty's a bunch of times. Seattle has such a great pinball scene.
Picked up a Rivertown theater shift, then going skating. Definitely a good day! 🛼🤑
We found a new skate spot 4 blocks away from my girl's house. I am going to try to find another new one somewhere not far from my house, at least I am going to try.

Spent the day with the wife, just watched Bon Iver bring it down on the Pitchfork Livestream, wife took me out to dinner here www.casbah.kitchen/menu for quitting my job, still in a lot of pain but haven't been back to the ER since last Sunday. Feeling a bit better.
Recuperating after a long weekend. Did my first 10 mile run yesterday in the AM after pushing hard for the past few months. Then went straight to training for a new DJ gig contracting with a company that throws the Gimme Gimme Disco Abba tribute, Broadway Rave and Emo Brooklyn nights. Hoping to hop around the country just playing Abba tunes.
