Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
our undercard is probably going to be a combination of acts playing Adjacent and acts playing Shaky knees with maybe a few unique/coachella acts
Only to a degree...Boston Calling is still going to have an EDM, pop, and rap presence on the poster that you won't find at those festivals to the same extent.
if its any similar to 2022 we’re getting like 1 or 2 artists in each of those categories. though if Gov ball ends up being cancelled(no dates for 2023 revealed yet) then we may end up getting some more

11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol
could have sworn there was a 3rd, maybe not. but since his dj tour has started he’s done every prominent US fest except Bonnaroo, Lolla, and Boston Calling so that gives me hope
A little off-topic, but In Between Days is returning in 2023...
It's two days in 2023, which increases the odds that there are going to be more artists that will appeal to any particular music fan. I'll start a thread for this festival.

I’m hopeful on no odesza due to the 2 new england shows they played last year but i wouldnt hate them headlining. I feel like the Strokes will headline instead
I can't imagine Boston Calling putting an EDM act in the top line since the move to Harvard. Maybe that works at multi-genre festivals where the headliners do not run unopposed, but EDM is the ultimate acquired taste. Someone may not be into rap, metal, or country, but everyone's got those one or two acts in those genres which they like, even if they generally dislike the genre. But, as big as some EDM artists are, they never cross over to people who aren't into EDM.
Given the Hangout announcement, I'm more inclined to think that it's RHCP * Brandi Carlile * Paramore now. It's still really weird that Brandi Carlile isn't doing the P!NK shows at Fenway when she's doing the ballpark shows right before and after. This is exactly the same thing that happened this year with The Strokes.

I'm sure Odesza won't headline. I just threw them in as they are already headlining a few, including Bonaroo.
was about to post the exact same thing, though I have to say it would be very funny having both the strokes and RHCP considering the former opener for the latter on an entire stadium tour last year
edit: hang on, they’re both gonna be in Houston on the Thursday, so maybe Paramore’s on Friday rather than on Sunday like we might have expected

Paramore would be coming from Atlanta (25th). It could still happen, but logically it would be easier for them to come from New Jersey (27th) to play on Sunday (28th). Maybe The Strokes on Friday (they're 2nd bill on the RHCP tour and could leave Houston earlier), RHCP on Saturday, and Paramore Sunday.
Edit: And yeah, re-reading that makes no sense logically, either.
Absolutely love Odesza and happy for them that they're headlining Bonnaroo or whatever, but I'm not sure it would sell well here. I'd be excited about it, if it were really happening. Let Billy Strings close Blue and overlap an hour or something.
Feels more likely that it's RHCP/Strokes/Paramore, and I'd be pretty happy with that as well.

I doubt that Beach Road has much of a radius clause. Jason Isbell played Beach Road and Providence within a couple of days of each other. There's also around 90 days between the festivals.
Brandi Carlile will sell a hell of a lot more tickets than an EDM act. Grandma knows The Story and The Joke. Grandma doesn't know bleep bleep, boop boop. 🤖

grandmas might, but college kids sure as hell don’t

EDM headliners are a great move at festivals where a large percentage of the crowd travels from a distance for a lineup that appeals to them. Whether it's a EDM festival or a multi-genre festival where EDM is a big part of the mix, people who like that sort of thing will travel for that.
But if you're hoping to attract a diverse audience from a local metropolitan area, and that's a big percentage of your audience, it's not a good direction.

lack of a roadrunner date makes me think we get them here
I do wonder though why they wait until after Coachella still to drop the lineup. We had like zero crossover 2022
A number of spring festivals have already announced. Unless there is Coachella overlap and artists are contractually prohibited from announcing other festivals before Coachella, what's the problem?
Boston Calling usually winds up announcing the lineup after a handful of June festivals have announced. Why wait?
Sure, someone could cancel along the way due to any number of reasons, as we saw this year, but that can happen within 36 hours of their scheduled festival set (also, as we saw this year), so why not drop the lineup earlier?
