I was coming here to say this, they would definitely fit the blue stage closer one day.
i find them really meh but i’m cool with them being there and playing the same time as a headliner I like
I give them more of a chance than I normally would because I went to high school with the two main guys, and had music theory with the lead singer, but I think they're great chill music to like put on and hang or drink a beer on a hot summer night. Silver Lining also slaps .

lack of a roadrunner date makes me think we get them here
Press release states "more festivals announcing soon".
I just saw the full RHCP poster and it doesn't give off "They're playing Boston Calling" vibes. The North American leg pretty much looks like they're hitting markets they didn't play last year (I presume; I don't feel like reviewing their 2022 tour dates right now.) They've only got one U.S. festival on tap, and it's part of a southern swing. They could be doing Boston Calling, but this doesn't look like the sort of tour poster where there's a Boston Calling-shaped hole right before and after other northeast U.S. dates. It could happen, but I wouldn't bet money on it.
I'll take all of: Pavement The Walkmen Pixies Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Sprinkle in some Billy Strings, Angel Olsen, Big Thief, and if they go with one more Americana/Bluegrass/Southern Rock, either Amanda Shires, Drive-By Truckers (MA date suspiciously absent in Spring 23 tour), or Jason Isbell.
Throw in some established rap and pop acts along with up and coming indie/rap/jam bands and that's a successful undercard in my eyes.
Edit: Didn't really get into the undercard of Kilby before. Wow.
Give me: Parquet Courts Jean Dawson Ethel Cain Osees Indigo De Souza Wednesday Momma
Kendrick - Strokes - Paramore plus Gizz and the potential for some of the cool shit from Adjacent to cross over would be pretty ideal for me. Keeping my eye on this. Any locals with some guidance on what part of town I should be staying in?

We hoteled in Waltham, about a 6 mile drive to the Alewife Red Line T station. Parking was plentiful and free this year. It’s the furthest-out station but only a 7 minute train ride to Harvard Square, which offers some food and bars after the festival. It was hopping after Metallica Sunday night, with the Celtics closing out their playoff series.
Downtown Boston has hotels near the Red Line but expect to pay more, get whacked for parking (if you’re driving), and take a longer T ride.
ok things are a little interesting w Paramore now, according to Noz, at Roo they arent billed first on their day, and are billed 4th overall at hangout. we may end up having them as a very strong sub, like Bon Iver, QoTSA, Odesza, and Rufus at the last 4

So the Subject line would be correct! If Paramore is the strong sub, then who are the headliners? Most think The Strokes, but who else? RHCP? The Cure (fingers crossed)? SZA?
Why does everyone think Kendrick is at BC all the sudden?
optimism. i know it probably won’t happen but him, jay z and j cole are the only rap headliners who havent done this fest yet as far as i know. and with Kendrick doing festivals next year, like Primavera, it helps his BC chances due to us usually sharing a headliner w them

That would be very cool. Hopefully, they'd be closing Blue, not Red, given the sound issues on Red.
