My biggest question here is whether the presence of the top two names each day in larger font and set apart from the rest of the the day's performers means that there won't be unopposed headliners and that each of those two artists will be performing at the same time. Any number of stage realignments could make this possible, especially use of the stadium
there's no way this is happening. if they added a major stage, there'd be more names on the lineup. the website says "over 50 performances across 4 outdoor stages" and the last row being all locals again means that the fourth stage is that small orange local one like last year (which i spent 0 time at but was apparently surprisingly popular.)
the top 2 names each day are almost certainly the red stage closer and green stage closer (real headliner) and i would expect the headliners to remain largely unopposed, as much as that may continue to annoy people.

I think it is far more likely than you are looking at the Red/Green stage closers, the combos make far more sense to be one leading into the other than playing opposite each other.
Hold on a minute...I just checked the lineup page in the mobile app, and there are a few acts there which don't appear to be listed on the website: Brutus, Welshly Arms, and Zolita are the ones I noticed.

You're probably right, but The National and Yeah Yeah Yeahs performing at the same time isn't great.

I could see them expanding blue to have bigger acts play there. King Gizz > QOTSA on blue (and orange?) with Bleachers > Paramore on Red and Green makes the most sense to me

I think/hope that The National will be on Green before YYYs on Red, and that Blue will be more poppy with Niall Horan closing (and probably Chelsea cutler before him). That being said, it's possible The National closes Blue opposite YYYs and if so then i will be very upset.

How would an expansion work? At the back of the soccer field, there's a sharp inline right next to the foot path, so where would you put extra people?

actually, I’m not even sure if they need to expand it, but at the very least booking acts that can fill that space with people is a good start. Goose was so empty closing blue last year, they need to be putting someone there that can attract an audience

They're on the poster and "interactive lineup" page, though.

Looks like they booked Goose one year too soon, then. They're now selling out shows in minutes.
Yeah, I think if they could have found a thread of hip hop to book through Sat, capped with Kendrick (or I guess like Post), the line up may look more attractive. But I think 2019 may have put an end the idea of current popular hip hop at BC, I just don’t see them booking Rolling Loud type artists
So, Kendrick Lamar wouldn't have been a bigger name and ticket mover than Paramore? Really?
you're assuming that Kendrick Lamar was an actual possibility, which he probably wasn't
not every act wants to play every festival
You may be right, but it's a stretch to say that there was no other touring artist who may have been a stronger draw in that spot. What we don't know, and can't know, is whether they settled for Paramore after trying to book other artists for the top line or whether someone there booked them as a first choice for one of the three spots.

do you think the people booking these fests don't do so with an eye towards booking the best talent possible, which will sell the most tickets, within their means? do you think that Boston Calling was like "gee, both Daft Punk and Paramore want to play, let's go with Paramore"?
