Yeah, the way I’m reading this is HL#1 would be closing out the Green and HL#2 would be closing out the Red, but if “No music will overlap with the headliners” and both acts are considered headliners, it doesn’t sound like there would be counter programming on the Blue during the HL#2 set on the Red
You're probably right, if that means that I can see The National and Yeah Yeah Yeahs on Friday and King Gizz and QotSA on Sunday, then no complaints here.
Limiting Gizz to an hour would be a shame, though, given their usual set lengths. The 75 minute allotment for Blue closers may now be a thing of the past.
I haven't received my presale code text yet. Has anyone recceived it already?
I just received the code being sent to rollovers via email, not text. There's a special link to buy at 9 am for the rollovers. It has a personalized URL, so there's no way to share it here.
Weird, i rolled over from 2020 (twice) and didn't get an email. Probably because i bought group-rate passes which they do over email and not through frontgate..?
As it relates to this reddit thing with the "headliners" being unopposed, it does seem weird that the second name on the poster and the website and whatever else is the same size and font now as the first name (which is the only artist i'll consider a headliner). They haven't stylized it like that in the past. BUT thinking those second names are worthy of unopposed sets and shutting down the Blue stage (which is the best stage at this whole thing) an hour+ earlier than before is a really really dumb move. I think/hope someone just misspoke or didn't expect their message to be dissected on the internet so intensely and it will be the same as always, with blue closer overlapping red closer and the headliner on green unopposed (or with very little overlap, could def see Gizz overlapping Paramore for 15min or so.)

This does make the undercard conflicts even worse on Sunday, though. King Gizzard is my top priority for the day, but I really want to see Bleachers, too. The Walkmen and The Linda Lindas could conflict, also.

Gizz should overlap with Paramore for exactly 18 minutes and 18 seconds.

code BC23 works, and has the same pricing described above. ($353 for a single 3-day pass, including the $12 shipping charge.) so i guess that means the promised rollover benefit of "blind presale pricing but after the lineup drops" for '23 and '24 is just getting brushed under the rug..? kinda sucks.

Are we wrong to assume King Gizzard will be closing Blue? They may actually be on Green, performing right before QotSA, with a run of 070 Shake -> Maren Morris -> Bleachers finishing up the day at Blue? I'd really like to see Bleachers, but KGLW is my top priority of the entire weekend. For most, however, a Gizz/QotSA conflict would be more painful.

You're probably right. Bleachers sold out 2 nights at Roadrunner, they're big enough to close Blue. And the genre-matching makes more sense. I just figured closing Blue would give Gizz the longest possible set time which is a thing those people would care about, but maybe that's secondary, or maybe they get an as-yet unheard of 90min on Green pre-Queens

yeah i think there’s gotta be some sort of miscommunication here, maybe they just mean the headliners won’t ever oppose each other? That’s the only sensible solution I can think of
2 sunday tix secured! feels so weird only doing 1 day but i’m hopeful i can score a day of ticket for friday
how much is a daily ticket right now?
175 each after fees. i was gonna do a friday as well but 2 1 days is about the price of a 3 day. YYYs, national and Flips just couldnt justify the additional 200

I saw Gizz at SK last year. They had a shorter set, but they absolutely ripped with the time they had alloted.
Do prices typically fall a decent amount on the secondary market? Specifically for day passes? Can't do Friday but thinking about Saturday/Sunday.
3 days dropped massively last year but that was because of roll over tickets and all the headliner shenanigans, but Sunday did sell out thanks to Metallica and the resale was more expensive than 3 day resale lol. If I remember correctly you could get a 3 day for around $120 while the Sunday resale was $180. I don’t anticipate the 3 day dropping that much this time around. I’m gonna be looking for resale too this year and I’m hoping it reaches $200 for a 3 day, which I think is reasonable compared to previous years
I really don’t know how they fucked up the Strokes booking. Fucking Lumineers
Negotiate a 2 festival contract with The Lumineers that lowers the per headliner expense to less than separately paying for The Lumineers at 1 (Shaky Knees) and The Strokes at the other (Boston Calling). 2023 edition of BC is a cost cutting exercise.

sure but in theory they should already have paid for at least part of the booking fee for the Strokes, and the tour rooting looked like it worked fine for the Saturday, where they were booked last year.
i actually really like the gov ball lineup from the leak so i may do that if my friend is able to let me crash. pickpockets and crowd sucks there but at least they some more current and fun acts

Live Nation did officially confirm that C3 has a stake in Boston Calling now.
Yup- "Boston Calling is produced by Boston Calling Events LLC (BCE), which is owned in part by Boston-based Crash Line Productions and Austin, TX based C3 Presents" Formal press release here

I wonder if Crash Line is still listed due to the timing of the close of the acquisition and there were already finalized negotiations done, or if it truly is a joint ownership.
