Obviously I would love if Blur played, but Depeche Mode and Blur seem like a massive- expensive top two for this fest.
Blur played this in 2013 when they had way less budget, and Albarn probably has a good relationship with Primavera having just played both weekends. Definitely think they’re possible.

That's what they've been saying on the Dutch board I'm on aswell re: Rock Werchter. But I just don't really see it. For starters, Gorillaz have a new album coming up in February. They've yet to do a full indoor tour with the last album, here aswell as in the US though they've mostly done festivals and I feel like of you had the chance, you've def seen em. But Id like to think that the possibility of Gorillaz touring with a new album is bigger than Blur coming back for a bunch of shows in the UK. The Wembley thing could also be the start of a come back and they could announce stuff starting from there, or is Primavera gonna walk away with that premiere aswell?
I’d love if it happened but I’ll need more to get my hopes up. Gotta agree with Bing that it feels like they’ll do a big hometown gig for hype and tour after.
Plus, I don’t see two huge “retro” English names at the top.
I actually could see them booking two older rock/indie bands. They've done it in the past. This year we have Pavement, Nick Cave, The National, The Strokes, Interpol. In 2018 you (again) had The National and Cave. In 2016 you had Radiohead, Sigur Ros and LCD Soundsystem. The year before The Replacements, The Strokes, Interpol etc. Like there's always been a bunch of indie/rock within their headliner-choices (apart from the very pop heavy 2019). So I 'could' see it, truth is that there's also a shit ton of other bands gonna be touring that might cost way less and Blur (if it is happening) gonna be available in '24 anyway I feel like. I mean Sigur Ros, Arctic Monkeys, The Mars Volta, Pulp, Massive Attack etc. are all probably/most def touring next year.

I like Blur ok but in general not that big of a Britpop guy so I'd rather not have Blur AND Pulp. Along with Depeche Mode, that's not a great crop of HLs to start for me, personally.

They’re Italian? I know the name from C2C Festival but haven’t heard them yet. I like this. It’s very 70’s funk.
Pen me in for a Jockstrap appearance, too. Not that has to do anything with anything. It’s just a want on my part. Didn’t realize they played this year lol

I think Jockstrap returning makes a lot of sense, weren’t they only a midweek act this year?

It may have been but I honestly don’t remember. I did a quick google after that and it pulled up on the lineup page. They had a few singles out by then but this album is a joy. Repeat or no, I’d love to see them.

Kacey Musgraves and Taylor Swift are both out because they’ll be playing at some country music festivals and they’re not allowed to play at some rock and pop festivals overseas.

They were on the line-up? How did I miss that, probably in one of the smaller venues?
No, she didn’t play this year because she was so disappointed at the moment and most country stars are not allowed to play at some rock and pop festivals overseas.

but this video is from her playing this year
I’m telling you that Kacey Musgraves didn’t play at Primavera Sound because she was so disappointed at the moment and most country stars don’t play at rock and pop festivals overseas because they’re so difficult.
No worries on answering, you guys. I collectively answered for us all. Pretty sure “Iron Maiden” isn’t a new artist but I was on a roll when I replied.
