playing Ireland on the Friday during Madrid doesn’t feel promising to me
I’m thinking they’re playing Barcelona and not Madrid. At least till more dates pop up and rule them out completely. Something was said in the press conference that was (paraphrase here) “if someone can only play one festival then it will happen”. I’ll try and look for that quote.
If that happens though, the disappointment is gonna be deafening.
i have a hard time seeing them let headline level names play just Barcelona, it’s a bad look for the initial Madrid edition. They could also just be playing Saturday night

Agreed but then I remember Porto who usually got screwed with artists who would play both festivals. I totally believe they’d do it. I’m also gonna keep my hopes up till Pulp announce more dates or Primavera shows a poster without Pulp on it.

Also just went back and looked at the instagram post with the dates and Jarvis said “these are the Pulp dates for 2023 so far” so they clearly are doing more than what they announced

There were 13 dates apparently for that time frame. This is 10. So add Glastonbury, Prima and maybe an additonal solo show in the uk and thats that.
Those Pulp dates make it a lot more plausible. Not a conformation by any means but open on BCN and booked 1 day during Madrid. That could be part of the 98% they were referring to.
FRIDAY 26TH MAY 2023 - Bridlington Spa SUNDAY 28TH MAY 2023 - Warrington Neighbourhood Weekender
FRIDAY 9TH JUNE 2023 - Dublin St Anne’s Park
SATURDAY 1st JULY 2023 - London Finsbury Park FRIDAY 7TH JULY 2023 - Glasgow TRNSMT Festival SUNDAY 9TH JULY 2023 - Scarborough Open Air Theatre WEDNESDAY 12TH JULY 2023 - Cardiff International Arena FRIDAY 14TH JULY 2023 - Sheffield Utilita Arena SATURDAY 15TH JULY 2023 - Sheffield Utilita Arena FRIDAY 21ST JULY 2023 - Suffolk Latitude Festival
Not worried on snagging the festival tickets yet but does anyone have info on these solo shows they got planned ? Bridlington Spa? Would like to get these secured asap next week.
They meant just one weekend with Ciutat shows on Monday and Tuesday and free day in Parc del Forum on Wednesday. Bits area is gone -not the stages, just the area in Sant Adrià del Besos- but unrelated to that phrasing. The new Mordor setup is staying, that's a given.
does that include the actual beach or is that technically not part of Sant Adrià del Besos

Dunno about the rest of the tour but Wet Leg is opening the London show.
how are they gonna keep the bits stages while losing the area to put them in?
Was wondering that as well. I don't see the space to fit two more stages in the non bits area of the fest.
Opening the area you find at your right when you get into Parc del Forum. It's been used for production until now and obviously they'd have to scale down Bits a lil bit but I can't see them engaging with Sant Adrià again after this year. Can't remember the specifics but Gabi said something like they planned the whole festival with that area allocating 30k people and 1 month or so before the festival Sant Adrià changed its mind and reduced it to 10k. Mix it with the bridge fiasco and there you go.
I don't like those Pulp dates *at all* man. Madrid has to be out for sure and having them only in Barcelona would be the weirdest welcome gift to the Madrid iteration ever. I'm starting to think they couldn't lock this reunion tbh.

When will Blur announce their UK/Europe dates? Anyone think Blur might play Hyde Park or O2 Arena in July? Thinking of catching both Blur and Pulp next year!

According to Steve Mackey’s instagram post (Pulp’s bassist), he won’t be joining them next year. But the good news seem to be Jarvis has remastered their old catalogues at Abbey Road Studios for the past two years so we might be getting reissues next year!

Holding out hope he can potentially join them for any US shows as he’s based in NOLA now.

Blur is apparently planning their shows for 2024. When its 30 years of Parklife. And there are only a couple of dates open at Hyde for next year and theyre taken. If they play a big london show its Wembley most likely.
