I'd be sad if bits went, it was my favorite part of the fest
I read somewhere that Sant Adrià cut the capacity for bits just weeks before the festival. If they did I think it’ll be a “Fuck You Then” situation towards them. There’s also the problem of that bridge which would end that issue.
I hope they decide to keep that portion. I’ve never seen it and it sounds wicked cool.
Basically how they talked about Madrid has me thinking I’m making the right choice. It’s sounding like the city is working with them and that eases my head a bit. Sure, it can go sideways quick but I’ll worry about that then.
I’ve Googled and Googled the VIP perks and came up with nothing. I know expedited entry and VIP areas and food/toilets. Is there anything else to know before I drop a stupid amount of money on Tuesday?
They have said, via comments on social media, the VIP areas will remain “the same” (meaning no VIP pits at stages).
This is where I stayed this year, right by Placa Espanya, and the roof/view is unbelievable. Looks like they haven't opened much future booking but might be worth shooting them a message and asking because I paid less than $100/night for a full week. www.airbnb.com/rooms/759351
Gabi blaming the city and politics for lack of water when it's HIS festival and HIS responsibility to provide water to attendees of his for-profit festival is really something else. Maybe if he'd built a better relationship with the city instead of constantly baiting them in the press...
You’re more than welcome to tag along but this will absolutely be a kid free week. I apparently go go into Papa Bear mode checking on everyone and making sure everything is okay though, so it’s not far off.

well i’ll be a 23 year old med school student so i would assume that fits your kid free sentiment
also was hoping by tagging along that meant i’d have my trip paid for please and thank you
Gave into the FOMO last second and secured a ticket for Barcelona despite a kinda mixed experience this year. Won’t be 100% locked in until the lineup probably. Not trying to set unrealistic expectations like I did this past year, just want to chill and enjoy it. My wishlist is mostly just for good La Ciutat shows the week leading up to the festival (that I secure tickets for in advance to avoid those queues), a good undercard (I spent way too much time in Mordor this year and ended up with a low volume of shows because of it), better access to free water, improved physical and mental fitness on a personal level so I can enjoy the massive festival site and international solo travel more, and a schedule that works out better overall for me (I don’t really know how to explain it, it wasn’t just the conflicts that made it hard for me this year, it was just the lack of flow, like lots of dead times between shows or not a compelling enough 3 show run at the outer stages to miss the easy to see headliners for. Compared to say when I looked at the 2019 schedule and there was a seamless flow where I could’ve seen 10-12 shows a day with little down time).
As for specific headliners, my top 3 would be LCD Soundsystem, Arcade Fire, & Massive Attack. Top undercard wish is Perfume because I got obsessed with them through the 2022 lineup.
If you add Arca and another hip hop headliner, this is the closest to how I see it shaking out.
caiman’s idea of a split city Kendrick / Travis is intriguing. I can totally see them doing it and totally see people flipping their shit over it happening.
