My friends are starting to look for excuses to not attend this due to the price and the lack of mid tier artists they’re excited for that they haven’t seen before 😒. Is Mad Cool expected to be announced this week too?
Tomorrow. I think. They stopped teasing with clues today / yesterday (?) + Sziget is announcing tomorrow (including Billie) and Rock Werchter is coming with her on Friday.
I'm sure it would have been a big difference in price, but I would have preferred Billie over Hasley on this lineup.
Yeah, my source's thinking process was that because PS was also announcing this week that they would have gotten her. Guess she's going for MC instead. Kinda dissappointed that PS didn't get her tbh.
Shame the Brunch line-up is that whack. Anyways, if you're interested. Tomorrow 12 CEST (so 6 am EST) you can buy tickets for Brunch.
With the registration for the other La Ciutat shows, idk how messy that's gonna be tho.. Like I remember the presale for the 15% payed tickets and it was just.. sold out. Instantly.
There's a ticket option Full Ticket Carnet Jove and it seems the extra benefit is the La Ciutat show on May 29? But.. that's normally free, no?
Newb to euro festival. Is PS truly the Coachella of euro like google search would say? Is Mad Cool even in the ballpark? Trying to decide what to go with.
EDIT: does PS sell out instantly or could I possibly wait to see Mad Cool lineup?

Coachella is more similar to Glastonbury than Primavera imo

This is not an instant sell out lineup and you can absolutely wait. I’m betting most people do.
My personal take is PS is closer to Coachella in terms of artists it books (and the vibezzz, maaan). Having done both I prefer this one but it’s mainly due to the fact that it’s a city fest. It’s feet from the ocean and not in a desert. It has transportation operations. It has pissers that you don’t have to walk into and shut the door behind you.
Primavera is truly a unique festival feeling and one that isn’t easy replicated.

They mentioned it in an IG post yesterday that it was gonna be registration opposed to people hanging and waiting.
re: a seperate Bits announcement, caiman . But back then Bits used to be solely for dj's while now, or atleast last year, the area was more catering towards live shows with way bigger artists and the plan to give this space way more attention than before. But given the politics that didn't come to fluctuation ofcourse. So I'm not sure if they will go back to the old Bits (and we could perhaps get a seperate announcement) OR they do get a permit to use the area in the capacity that they wanted in 2022 (which I think is rather unlikely) and some artists already announced for this will play Tous (and other stages) OR they just ditch Bits all together and we get no extra names anymore and it'll just be BR and NTS. OR these are the acts announced for Bits already included and we get a seperate announcement for Boiler Room and NTS? Idk.
Last year Bits (or Sant Adrià, properly speaking) was meant to hold a lot of people, hence why Charli, 2manydjs, Jhay Cortez, mura masa, KingGizz and so on were slated to play there. Gabi said that a few weeks before the first weekend Sant Adrià told them they couldn't have more than ¿10k? people there and the bridge had to be close to GA, causing the clusterfuck we all lived to get there and making more people to stay at the main area. Check the 2019 schedule and you'll see the biggest acts over there were SOPHIE, Richie Hawtin and Lizzo (another clusterfuck even clashing with Rosalía but the album just got out). My point is that they used that area to move some relevant names over there and make people flow from Mordor and the main area to Bits but, in reality, it was always an electronic focused area.
I know that we're not getting Sant Adrià back this year. I don't know if Bits is relocating elsewhere (that was the plan a few months ago) or we lost it too but if they're relocating that area it'll look more like 2018-2019 Bits rather than 2022 Bits for sure.

Seems Carnet Jove was like a reduction for the local youth, so scrap what I said but I'm just confused with why they are selling that bundle when the show (5/29) is for free anyways.
You will need to register yourself for the La Ciutat shows, not buying. The only thing you can buy beforehand is the brunch (scroll through the ticket options, it's the most right one).

Thanks. I don't want to commit to the brunch so I won't be buying. Hopefully they will still allow admission for festival ticket holders if capacity hasn't been reached.

Idk where else they could even locate it to re: the placement of Mordor and how certain stages or placed on the map.. I think Bits is always going to have to be placed 'round there idk.
I haven't gone to 2018/19 but looking at the maps, it does not seem that much of a difference in size? Like Dice came in the place of Lotus for example. Tous was placed on the Despe Cube stage. They use the same space? In 2018 the beach is barely used tho but, ya.

in what way?
I mean Paul T outright said that was his blueprint for Coachella. And just on brand recognition those are the top 2 in the game. Even though Primavera is starting to franchise itself it still isnt just this instant thought of what it is to a random person. FYF was turning into its own version of Primavera til it went away and thats how Sean had seen the fest going since he was tight with the Prima people.

why would brand recognition matter to someone asking about the actual experience at the festivals. Glastonbury and Coachella being the most famous doesn't make them similar.
Glasto and Coachella are nothing alike. The only comparison you could make is that the bookings on their biggest stages (Pyramid, Coachella, Outdoor and Other) are sometimes really all over the place and that they are both big festivals. But they're very different in mentality and scale.
No, today is just the regular sale for the passes. They gave some details about Ciudad shows to show they kind of aknowledge the previous shitshow but wouldn't count with more info until April or so.

In 2017 and 2018 the area ended just before the beach. They only opened it on the afternoon and there were no floor, you were just standing on the sand. In 2019 they added a stage there and last year they went big and added the fake grass.

Thank you. I was thinking it was super early for anything like that but needed it clarified.
Just realized Just Mustard is playing BCN and Gwenno is on the MAD Ciutat shows and I’m fucking jealous.
Also Charlotte Adigery & Bolis Pupul, Erika De Casier, Lucrecia Dalt, Oneohtrix Point Never, Ryoki Ikeda and Wata Igarashi. Would've loved to have gotten them, sad..

You think they'd close of the beach again or, just all together?
Might start compiling everything to work on a possible schedule.
My guess is they're gonna get rid of Tous and will scale down and relocate Dice elsewhere. The main electronic acts will play Mordor, Primavera & Ray-Ban, the small ones and b2bs will go to Dice and closing Pitchfork and the weirdest will be trapped inside NTS. Add 7-9 names to the Boiler Room line-up and that's it. I mean we just lost Fever Ray and Oneohtrix Point Never cause they're playing Sonar and last year Primavera had virtually every electronic act touring around June.

They didn't have Arca (Sonar) and neither do they this year. Eartheater, Skee Mask, Conducta and Herrensauna would've also been dope, but you're right that they pretty much got everyone. Melt line-up got me excited for a second batch of electronic names tho idk.
The more and more I dig, I realize how hip-hop heavy this line-up is (which is good, imo.) really liked that Central Cee single earlier this year. I need to do more research.
Uncovered and pretty excited for Gabriels and Brutalismus 3000 today. Gabriels will be my SAULT replacement and Brutalismus 3000 is just insane.
