The overall tepid reaction seems to point to not even as fast as this years edition. Guess the price hike and apparent lack of mind blowing acts wasnt enough.
after looking at this again for maybe the 15th time, I just noticed The Soft Pink Truth is on there. His Pitchfork set in 2021 was of my favorite shows last year, go see that if you can.
Anyone who’s been, is it better to grab a place near the fest or just stick to city centre?
Kind of just want to rent one of these boathouses near the fest and go there but looking for feedback.
I’ve read those tend to cancel a lot before the fest forcing you to choose from slim pickings. I dunno first hand though.
Trams will be crowded but open 24 hours. I’d try and find something closer to the tram line.
There’s also a shuttle from the Forum to Plaça de Catalunya. You could easily stay in Eixample for that. Again though, those will be crowded.
Just to piggyback on this I stayed in Eixample this year and took the shuttle back on the mornings I didn't stay till 6 and it worked very well. I would always pick somewhere near city centre for this because there's better restaurants and sites to see pre-fest there. Besides the festival there's not much going on near the Forum
roughly looking at the lineup, there are still around 13 or so electronic acts a day. not sure how it compares to previous years off the top of my head, but still not bad imo.
That could be enough for NTS and Boiler Room, but seeing how they were placed this year it could mean losing the Bits area which is worse cause I think the BR-stage should be at Bits and not causing sound bleed to surrounding stages - which was def the case for Plenitude and Cupra.
I can't wrap my head around this either. I think there are roughly 50-60 acts per day but it defintely feels there are less electronic acts. I see several djs and a couple of b2bs but the amount of Daniel Avery live, AceMoMa live and so on has dropped drastically. I don't want to get delusional because if I had to bet rn I'd say we're losing at least one stage off Bits if not all of them but apparently there are thing yet to be revealed (see Gazzi, a Spanish artist who played Boiler Room this year teasing something 'soon'):
Maybe we're facing a separate Bits announcement with every act from the poster playing there plus a few new ones or maybe we just lost Tous stage (the one with most of the live acts, Charli and so on) and it's NTS for the weirdest things, Dice for the regular dj sets and Boiler Room, which tipically reveals their line-up a few days before the fest.
That's a tricky one. I'd say Ciudad del Rock is bigger than Parc del Forum but they insisted this year that the latter didn't reach max cap (90k, which is scary). Checking the numbers again they got 81k people on Friday W2 and they expected Sant Adrià to host 15k IIRC so maybe they stay at 80k this year but we'll see.

In other years they had some last additions and acts who got filled for cancels, but a seperate announcement for the Bits area? Idk. I don't see it. Also keep in mind that they completely mirror the line up with Madrid - with Madrid, there is no case of a Bits area since it's just one big field so.. Perhaps they ditch Bits area (apart from the political problems) because of that aswell.

My friends are starting to look for excuses to not attend this due to the price and the lack of mid tier artists they’re excited for that they haven’t seen before 😒. Is Mad Cool expected to be announced this week too?
This is undoubtedly going to end up as one of the best lineups of the year, but it just feels underwhelming to me based on past Primavera lineups (including last year).

last year was a fever dream. multiple days felt like entire fests crammed into one day

looks like they've done early December announcements before. I'm tempted to wait now that they have a new site that's a 20 minute walk from the 3 line which runs through Centro Madrid.

Tomorrow. I think. They stopped teasing with clues today / yesterday (?) + Sziget is announcing tomorrow (including Billie) and Rock Werchter is coming with her on Friday.
re: a seperate Bits announcement, caiman. But back then Bits used to be solely for dj's while now, or atleast last year, the area was more catering towards live shows with way bigger artists and the plan to give this space way more attention than before. But given the politics that didn't come to fluctuation ofcourse. So I'm not sure if they will go back to the old Bits (and we could perhaps get a seperate announcement) OR they do get a permit to use the area in the capacity that they wanted in 2022 (which I think is rather unlikely) and some artists already announced for this will play Tous (and other stages) OR they just ditch Bits all together and we get no extra names anymore and it'll just be BR and NTS. OR these are the acts announced for Bits already included and we get a seperate announcement for Boiler Room and NTS? Idk.
