Alright, more realistically then: Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem, Bjork, Rosalia, Pulp, Olivia Rodrigo + some promoted headliner types.
I think this year I spent way too much time at the main stages and saw a low volume of shows because of it, so I wouldn’t be too disappointed if a good deal of the headliners aren’t acts I’m super excited for so I’d have more time to just hop between the outer stages.
Blackpink at Primavera would be wild. Dreamcatcher was incredibly fun (even if I think they killed the momentum of the show a bit with excessive skits), but that would be another level.
Where is the Blackpink speculation coming from? Was it mentioned recently as a possibility?
Dreamcatcher was a big hit for them on social media, so it makes sense they may try to bring in another k pop group. No rumors or anything though, and blackpink is probably too big to be realistic, I’d just love to see it happen (I watched their Coachella stream and was amazed). They said they booked Dreamcatcher just because someone in the office liked them, so maybe it’s just a one off and not a sign they’ll book more k pop in the future. Was such a fun show though, seeing that sort of act with a Primavera crowd was really cool, how many people can say they’ve moshed at a k pop show?

No Kacey Musgraves or Taylor Swift because they’re just country stars and they can play at some country music festivals instead of some rock and pop ones.

Kacey just played so I wouldn't expect her back so soon.

Technically, this will give them 6 months since their last Spain show but maybe not that likely now.

No, I don’t think she just played because she’s so disappointed at the moment and she should’ve dropped out of Primavera Sound. She’s a country star, not a pop star. You know, but, most country stars don’t play at rock and pop festivals overseas because they’re so disappointed at the moment. And if no one in Europe outside the U.S. wants to listen to country because they’re too difficult.

If it was a joke, my apologies. I’m not reading well due to just waking up.
Eh, 10 years ago you have gotten laughed at if you said PS would have booked a pop headliner. The festival is constantly evolving and it wouldn’t be the first time booking a K Pop group.
Unless you meant the money, then I completely agree with you.

I just don’t think Dreamcatcher playing a small side stage to modest crowd made Blackpink a likely headliner for some reason.

And you’re right. Plus, wasn’t it because someone in the organization just wanted them to play? Truthfully, it doesn’t really matter. The money they would have commanded would have far exceeded the worth.
It makes sense to me why it was being speculated until I thought about the cash to book them.

Was the crowd not huge for Dreamcatcher? I was up close, didn't really pay attention, and just saw that it was a hit for them on social media. But yeah, Blackpink's unlikely, I just thought it would've been cool. Would love another K-Pop group, or any other unexplored genres for the fest, I think what was most cool about this festival for me was the stark contrast in genres between shows. Die Katapult - Dreamcatcher - Slowthai - Bauhaus for example, you won't find a run like that anywhere else.

You already know what kind of person Gabi is, if he can get them he'll get them. It'll give him press coverage, social media buzz and lots of international k-fans coming over. Money.
Literally just wanted BP don't think anyone ever considered them likely. Also they just had Dua Lipa so as far as finances idk.
Like seeing Houston on that tour schedule!
Now go look at the prices.
The giving up hope for me was an announced Barcelona date and in the pacific rim during the Madrid dates. Sure, planes .. but I don’t see them doing that.
All imo but it might be better to keep building to that by booking more fishes of that genre on the cheap before going for a whale.
So I read a rumor (Reddit, maybe) recently that said the Mars Volta was doing European dates next summer. I’d gladly take that too.
