the worst thing about ambient is that when its shit you have another hour before it ends. at least dubstep, trap, reggaeton, and buttrock knows when to fuck off

Eno transitioned into an interesting phase from the freak level avant-garde of Here Come the Warm Jets and Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy which were his first albums after he left Roxy Music. Third was Another Green World and an early foray into what would become ambient, something he would come to define. . He’d already done No Pussyfooting with Fripp so he was working on some weird shit. . WTUL ( at Tulane) used to have a show in the early 80’s at 2am called bizzare radio with 2 z’s. They’d warn you to change the station if you were mentally unstable or under the influence of psychedelic drugs. They’d play a lot of those early ambient albums, mostly backwards, for 2 hours. Maybe it was me, but some of it made sense. I don’t know that much ambient and haven’t even listened to all 8 or 9 of his ambient works. But when Eno is there, it’s good

If you're trying to counter the argument that "ambient songs last forever", I would pick any other artist than Brian Eno to do that with lol

Not a counter, just a personal aside. It’s weirder backwards for tripping teenagers. I later met this freak in college who loved that radio program because he was happy trees and nature were receiving those radio waves. I nodded and didn’t push him to go any further.
