If we're categorizing Pearl Jam as buttrock for this poll, then grunge shouldn't be a category. They're one of the top 3, if not top 2, bands that are practically synonymous with that genre.

Thought some of the bands mentioned here like Foo Fighters, QOTSA, Pearl Jam fell under alternative (rock) like Pixies and Sonic Youth in the late 80s or yeah, grunge. I dont even know what the or who the fuck is all supposed to fall under this term, it shouldnt be here since it's not a real genre anyways.
Like people are just naming bad bands.. And thats buttrock then?

the purest and easiest definition of butt rock is the aforementioned whatever they play on "nothing but rock" radio station, which covers a lot of Clear Channel approved songs. but when i think of butt rock i go to the longinus coined term "[Florida] panhandle derp rock", which are those 00s acts that play arenas near naval bases. Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Shinedown, shit like that.

Evenflow has to be the king of buttrock songs. If we’re putting them in that category, they’re the best.
But they're not tbh. Putting PJ in with the likes of Nickelback, Creed, ect was always ridiculous imo.
After Ten they’re definitely not buttrock. Buttrock is definitely not so good live, completely different shows every night. But people only think about the hits.

^^^absolutely. basically all the post-nu-metal acts. that's just my definition, i know the actual definition of buttrock is much broader.
