Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Do you think they would announce Childers? Or do the Mumford thing since he has the Boston show right afterward? It's super sold out, so maybe that doesn't matter?
Upcoming Shows: August 7: Green Day/Smashing Pumpkins/Rancid/The Linda Lindas August 30: Waxahatchee/Snail Mail/Tim Heidecker September 17: Pearl Jam/Glen Hansard September 24: Idles/English Teacher
Are there any other artists that we know will be there left to be announced at this point? Molly Tuttle?
And Son Volt performing Trace given their tour and the fact that they were scheduled to play and perform Trace in 2020.
Josh Ritter is probably a good bet too. He's playing with Gregory Alan Isakov in the same area. Maybe Watchhouse as they seem to be part of the Dawn Landes collab.

I’d expect Soccer Mommy because she’s opening for Maggie Rogers on both sides of Newport. In fact, I’d be a little sad if we didn’t get Soccer Mommy. We’re also surprisingly light on the sad girl emo folk acts this year.

We were overwhelmed with the sad girls with a guitar last year. A break is due.

I've got bad news for ya, this year has sad boys with a guitar too
I mean - I’d hope Newport already has the headliner decided by this point.
"Hey Jason Isbell, we're actually going to have you open up for Neil Young, okay? No? Okay, no problem, we'll just tell Neil Young to go fuck himself."

I get not wanting to be inundated, but I disagree. I thought Newport had done an exceptional job last year to start to turn the corner towards preparing for and embracing Gen Z. It feels like we’ve taken a turn back to Gen X this year with Son Volt (maybe), Josh Ritter (maybe), Los Lobos, Aimee Mann, John Oates, Jonathan Richman, and Dawn Landes.
(That said… I know the youngins are high on Noah Kahan. And maybe Maggie Rogers?)

There was plenty of loud and upbeat stuff to offset the sad guitar girls last year - Sylvan Esso and The Roots were back to back and provided the most energy I've ever seen at Newport. This year has very little energy. Those hot days will feel a lot hotter.

I do agree, that was a fun back to back sequence, for sure.
