I'm surprised they didn't get Soccer Mommy to replace Gabriels. I mean technically they could have, but I don't know why they would label it as TBA if it was just Soccer Mommy.

Solid looking schedule for me.
Hoping to get in early enough to catch Ron Gallo on Friday.
Man, that run of Backseat Lovers -> Goose -> Isbell is perfect for me. I will be getting close and moving up throughout the day. 3 full sets, too. No splitting with others unless something changes for me. Wish Goose could have 90 minutes but whatever. Sure they'll be popping up throughout the fest.
Folk Family Revue followed by Billy Strings looks like an excellent way to close the fest for me.
Great stuff. Now to listen to some others I am not sure about.

eh, the TBA could mean "can't announce them because of a radius clause" or "can't announce because it's a bigger name we want to keep secret" or "it's TBA because we haven't actually booked them yet", so who knows
"You look like you're listening to every note." - Lady to me during LCD's "final" show 2023: Mar 29 - Guster Apr 6 - Postmodern Jukebox Apr 26 - Father John Misty May 14 - Taylor Swift (Philly) May 17 - Robert Plant and Alison Krauss July 12 - moe. July 16 - CAKE (Portland, ME) July 28-30 - Newport Folk (#12!) Dec 8-9 - Goosemas!
you can keep saying that, but it doesn't change the fact that two years ago, Billy Strings stood on a stage at Fort Adams and played an entire ass set of Doc Watson songs in tribute
There’s no reason to believe that this is what’s happening so you guys don’t have to keep fighting about it
That might be the only reasonable reason to not put Noah in that slot and have Nickel Creek close the Quad
eh, if that TBA slot was later in the day, maybe? but both Kahan and Childers are a lot bigger than Caamp.
I don’t think it was the plan, but I think after Gabriel’s cancelled and Tyler was going to be in town that day, they made it work the best they could. Having Childers show up middle of the day unannounced is a big “anything can happen at the fort” bonus lore that I’m sure they will happily take
Friday could also be Molly. Since there is actual evidence out there that said she is at the fest this year.
Unless for some reason that ended up not happening.
kinda feel like that wasn't accurate. she's in oregon 7/22 and then colorado 7/30. flying cross country in the middle of a west coast tour for a 50 minute set in the middle of the afternoon isn't out of the realm of possibility, but seems a little silly.
i think the guesses of someone like Joy Oladokun or Soccer Mommy, someone who is touring with another act playing that day/weekend, makes the most sense
I don’t think there is a person out there that legitimately knows how that dumpster fire that is Dice works….
Worst case scenario I'll grab a kayak and watch from the bay. I appreciate their effort to curb scalpers but this seems like a situation that would leave a lot of empty seats on the table... We'll see.
Yep, now is the time the gf and I contemplate whether to bring our kayaks or not. At least we’re not alone in considering alternate options.
Does the bike and foundation schedule not get announced before hand or am I overlooking it
Nope, last year those set times weren't available until the morning of each day (when they were added to the large, hand-painted sign schedule on display in front of the former Museum of Yachting).

Are we assuming that Tyler will have the full band Friday night? Maybe Childers solo on a stool is the TBA and makes the booking fit a bit better for Friday?

Ugh. No Gabriels or Jonathan Richman. Very dissapointing.
This is a more than average frustrating schedule for me as everything is bunched up that I want to see. That being said, here goes: Friday: Will camp out at the Harbor from Ron Gallo to Heavy Heavy just to keep good seats. Maybe go over to TBA at Fort. Likely some subset of our group will go over to Quad for Nickel Creek/Noah Kahan. Finish at Fort MMJ Saturday: Willi Carlisle (Harbor), Depending on Weather may head over to Fort for remainder of the day or try to get Indigo De Souza at Harbor and/or Hold Steady at Quad. As for Jon Batiste closing, when he did it last it was one of my top 5 Newport sets so I will give him the benefit of the doubt. Sunday: Senora May (Harbor), Sumbuck or Jupiter, Black Opry Revue, Remi Wolf, Lana Del Rey, Folk Family Revue/Billy Strings.
They will be good days but will be sad to miss out on some great acts.
the more i think about it, the more i think they're absolutely nuts for putting Noah Kahan on the quad.
Putting Noah on the quad is a lowkey safety hazard when leaving that performance considering how many people are probably going to pack inside the quad.
Do people think they’ll close down the quad if they reach a certain capacity?
is there even a good way of getting a good spot at the Quad that doesn't involve going at 10am and camping out there all day? i guess my group could drop a placeholder blanket in the morning over there, i just feel like a jerk if we only pop over there for 2 sets all day. last year i was alone/didn't bring any sort of blanket or chair, and it was impossible to get a spot under the tent, (whether standing or in a seat,) for any set i wanted to see at the Quad the entire weekend, which was incredibly frustrating.

It’s crazy, I agree. I don’t think putting John Oates on the Harbor stage, where it can become a bottleneck when it gets crowded, was a great idea either imo
