took a look at Jay's "recent listening" on Spotify just because and looks like homie is still listening to Ryan Adams lmao
Interesting timing, looks like Jay’s “recent listening” is private now. Was always a good resource to check out in the off-season to see what might be coming for the year ahead, but for the page of discourse on inforoo, I’d say it was worth jocking on him for listening to an assclown’s music.

Are people still allowed to listen to Roger Waters? Maybe Ryan Adams is collaborating with him this year and we’ll have a full set of people that are cancelled.

He makes it private every year during announce time, I think.

Very happy to see Billy Strings returning to the fort. I loved his set with Molly Tuttle in 2019 and I heard great things about his Doc Watson tribute set. Excited to see what he’ll do this year

Hell yeah! He was def one of the highlights of the ‘21 fest.
Billy Strings could easily be the headliner if they wanted it. So it’s pretty amazing to think that he probably won’t be. I wonder if he’ll factor into whoever/whatever does end up as the Sunday headliner: Willie Nelson, Bob Weir, a tribute set, etc.

I was thinking the same thing. Billy has "paid his dues" at Newport and absolutely deserves to close out the fort.

Other than Roger Waters, has Newport ever booked and announced an act that could sell out multiple nights at Bridgestone Arena? And to think that that act may not even be headlining. Although I would not mind if they gave him a headlining spot and told him to run wild with it and invite his friends. (Imagine Post Malone at Newport.)

Maybe pre-headline Sunday before whatever group act/sing-along thing they have to close the fest
If he was on Friday or Saturday, I'd be pretty convinced he was the headliner. Since he's Sunday, I could see him being pre-headliner on the Fort, but I could see it going either way.

Billy Strings has 3 upcoming sold out nights this year at Bridgestone and the next night at the Ryman too.

Looks like Roger is re-recording DSoTM without the rest of the band, for the 50th anniversary.
Bedouine is apparently going to be on the album.
That’d be a easy re-booking for this fest.
He’s still polishing the final details but it should be released as a “lavish vinyl” and promoted with a concert. Given that Roger left Pink Floyd in the 1980s and doesn’t own the Pink Floyd name, it will very likely be released under his own name.
