Went to jam. Was on hyperpop before going to BG but I think if hyperpop voters get their votes freed up they'll go after something good, whereas it should be easier to rally jam voters tomorrow and finally get rid of bluegrass.
That isn't what we're doing this round, so I wonder why you think that.

Where do you plan on going then jw
I don’t know - jam, bluegrass, hyperpop and ambient have been targeted recently but you never know for sure if a genre is going to get a break for a few days. I like some music from all the genres. I’m going to play it by ear.

You're going straight for disco and you're not fooling anybody.

Like hyperpop, it would probably get protected for a while making a vote against it quixotic. Musically it's pretty far down the totem pole, but apparently lots of people find it fun today. The other stuff I'm not overall much of a fan of would be country, R&B (since the mid 1980's) and pop. I don't really care much about techno or house either, but like every genre I mentioned, there are exceptions.

I wasn't around for the disco wars, and I probably don't even rep any of the stuff that you hate/hated, but italo disco is peak culture. Protect Disco.
will say i am very surprised jam is potentially going out this early on a board dedicated to a fest that started as a pure jam fest
My problem with jam here is mostly semantic and not sonic.
That’s what I think Pablo was implying in calling it cornball. Maybe as a meme, but I’ll be damned if I snuck into a pool hall as a kid and wasn’t throwing Mountain Jam on to interrupt some ignorant fuckers replays of Sonny Bono or The Carpenters.

The music is generally simplistic and engineered to be what it was. I wasn’t quite a teenager when it hit. So I learned a couple dance moves to have fun at parties. That aspect was fine. It’s more the scene that I didn’t like. Lots of fronting. Hair metal, second invasion and disco have that in common. I’ll work on an unhinged documentary when disco goes down. A sneak peak would be my oldest sister coming home from working at the hospital’s ER to tell me about the dude with the hot dog in his pants. Yeah, a hot dog. Guess the lord hath told him he would be getting some bitches if only….

I'd venture most active inforooers aren't really jamband people these days. Goose is pretty hot right now and there are a handful of us in the Phish thread, but i don't think many of us were at the first few years of Bonnaroo.
