I didn’t get one good reason for punk going and 17 people voted. If you’re voting and never posting, or if you’re posting and not discussing, please take a dehydrated burning piss.

If we're talking classic rock, an opportunity to post this...
...a performance so good, the going urban legend is that The Rolling Stones shelved the entire Rock and Roll Circus film because this made them look lame by comparison.
Beatles aren't classic rock to me because theyve never really been a part of the classic rock station mixes. I definitely think of them and beach boys as pop bands more than like a Stones or Zep

Beatles have always been played on classic rock here.
Classic rock is kind of as tricky as butt rock to define. Like Another Brick in the Wall is easily classic rock, but is Echoes? They're both prog but I feel like "classic rock" almost implies lasting mainstream radio relevance which definitely weakens it for me

Prog has to be included in classic rock sense it wasn’t it’s own category. I don’t know if I’ve ever heard King Crimson on the radio but you definitely hear Rush and Yes.
I'd probably slot prog in as a subgenre of psych moreso than classic rock.
Shit like Gong and Hawkwind I'd agree on the freaky or space side of progressive, yeah. OG Progressive and the Big 5 [tm] of King Crimson, Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd and ELP are their own thing. Only one or two of each's songs ever gets played on classic rock. Early Pink Floyd through maybe Meddle or Obscured by Clouds was very pshychadelic.
Classic rock is a also a radio format term. Nobody in the 1960's or 1970's was calling it classic because it was just rock and roll. Progressive worked within the format of rock and roll but was not constrained by radio friendly pop shit for the masses because the art was a bigger virtue.
Night Ranger is one of the worst bands in the history of rock and roll. I fucking despise that p-a shit. REO Speedwagon too. Hate hate hate.
Sometimes, you just have to roll with the changes.
Absolute hatred for wuss rock. Maybe You Can't Tune a Piano isn't the worst album ever. But the one that came out when I was in high school absolutely was - Hi Infidelity. There's literally no music I can't stand more than wuss rock. I remember when that album was coming out, Kevin Cronan (sp?) was on MTV talking about the new album which will have "10 killer songs." No. All that shit. Loverboy too. Just the worst of the worst sap shit.
