The Wheel Returns To His Rest, But Will Wake Again Soon.
I’m so confused as to why you’ve personified this element of the simulation as some sort of eldritch abomination. Everything else has been so normal. Did Pat Sajak right a memoir on the horror of wheels recently or something?
everyone else gets to pretend to be an agent or a festival or a news reporter and I just have to be normal

honestly think it might’ve been funnier if it was just COVID instead

Despite all my rage I am still just a wheel in the N.A. 2023 festival booking simulation

wouldn’t make sense since the cancellations are happening before lineup drop
I will say a funny thing is looking back on Pitchfork lineups from like a decade ago and coming to realize that they definitely blew all their money on the top lines and then filled out the rest of the lineup with as many small bands as they could find.
edit: though I guess the other funny thing is that 10 years later I'm thinking about it in terms of their budget but back then all I could think was "wow! They got everybody to play this!"
Guys when you send a formal offer and there’s no expiration date, I’m gonna assume it’s still on the table unless I say it’s a pass or we need more money. Even if it takes a few days for me to Confirm

agents if I send an offer, I'm trying to start a conversation, y'all are fickle beasts and I am never sure if the offer I send is going to be right on the first go. often I am trying to guage if something is going to be more expensive than I would like.
Agents, I have reached out to you extensively. Why not hit me up with some acts here and there? We’re friends right? It’s not weird?
agents haven't reached out to you? JTR hit me up almost immediately and Rooloo and Truevine suggest acts pretty regularly.
I’ve had some here and there but not at all consistently. Would like to just make a general statement to all agents that it would be cool if they did that.
Julie and I will be locked in a years long legal dispute plagued by delays and appeals. It will no doubt be a brutal struggle, helped in no way by today's vicious media cycle.
if I was going to play this game I would simply have a deep knowledge of my chosen festival's brand, a budgeting strategy that enables me to book both the headliners and smaller names I'm interested in, and a wide range of options so that I can acquire most of the acts I want even when I'm told "no", and an . but maybe I'm just built different
