I dislike the sort of (pop)punk that gets booked on those festivals (same with that one day fest I can't even recall the name of), but I think you did a great job in what the spirit of the festival would look like today in the collection of acts you booked.
Sasquatch thrived in a time when that dreaded word “Americana” was everywhere. Everything had a folk tag, or was “indie-something.” With this lineup, I did my best to lean into that.
I tried to capture a pretty broad spectrum of roots music, but focus acts that truly own that title with acts on every line ranging from Bella White, to Don Bryant, Rhiannon Giddens, to Nickel Creek. The pacific northwest is often memed for its coffeeshop obsession with this genre. I hope I owned that by booking acts that fit that category, but would be hard to miss.
Indie rock is a genre that I’ve always associated with the pacific northwest, so I turned Yeti (the smallest stage) into a place your typical indie-head would never leave. I love it when festivals curate certain areas/stages around a genre or theme. This was a (really) rough attempt at that.
Wrapping up, I did my best to include a solid amount of pop music. I don’t think the early-mid 2010s are remembered for their pop, but with the amount of awesome stuff out right now, it’s something I wanted to add.
The only headliner I’ll focus on specifically is The Postal Service. A home state 20-year performance of Give Up was too good not to try for.
This is probably not a festival for everyone, but It’s one that would make me happy. Enjoyed going through everyone’s lineups so far.

Here it is! Your 2023 Lollapalooza lineup in all its glory.
Returning exclusively to Grant Park for the first time since 2007 is Chicago native Eddie Vedder and the legendary rock band Pearl Jam. Joining Pearl Jam will be first time Lolla headliner and business, man, Jay Z! In the third headlining spot we have British alternative rock band Arctic Monkeys fresh off their new album, The Car. While we are on the subiect of new albums, rounding out the top 4 is pop-punk darlings Paramore who are set to release their new album in February.
We take pride in booking a gender equal and genre diverse lineup. In line with 2022, we booked 40% of our acts with at least 1 woman (up 10% from any pre 2022 lineup). 2023 also includes our first ever all female south field taking place Friday between T-Mobile and Lake Shore stage.
Check out the full lineup broken down by day below and we hope to see you in Grant Park August 3-6 in 2023!
