we watched that season of survivor after watching seasons 1 of white lotus - kinda randomly actually bc the wife and I had been talking about survivor and looked on netflix to see if any seasons were on there and it happened to be the one with mike.
my wife was reading an article and apparently his experience on survivor (it's theme for those who havent seen it was "davids and goliaths") was some of the inspiration for him to write the first season. and he cast one of the survivor castmates in White Lotus.
kara and angelina were also in the first episode of this season, talking to daphne on the beach.
I’m sure this has been said, but if you like White Lotus, you should watch enlightened on HBO. I believe it was basically Mike White’s very first big project.

Guess it depends on what you mean by big project, but he wrote The Good Girl, Orange County, School of Rock, and Nacho Libre (and several other things, but these were probably the biggest) all before Enlightened.

i meant big project as in he: created it, wrote it, directed it, starred in it and produced it.
Finally got around to watching the show and holy heck did that second season go off the chain at the end. The first was good, but the second one was a really good slow burn to that big blowup of everyone- definitely didn’t expect any of that to go down the way it did.
