for ability scores you'll roll a 4d6, which you can either type into google or on roll20 put the command /roll 4d6 into the chat and it'll roll for you as well. remove the smallest number and add the leftovers up and that will the be the score you get for the ability, and you'll do this five more times. so i.e., let's say i roll 3+4+5+6, so i'll remove the 3 and i'll have 15, and i want that to be my ability score for charisma. but you'll also have to check your racial stats, because for example half elfs get a +2 to their charisma, which would make it 17 instead of 15.
and you can just write down the score you got for each role before you designate it to any specific ability, as to better optimize your character.
then you'll add the respective modifier to your score using this chat.
I had a friend walk me through and help me build my character. On the character sheet, click the gear next to spells, scroll to the bottom and click LAUNCH LEVEL 1 CHARACTERMANCER. It walks you through most of it after that.

I would be careful with this because once charactermancer is turned on it can’t be undone and then it makes it a little harder to freely edit your sheet But if it’s good for you that’s ok

Hahaha. No worries. If it bothers you later we can make a new sheet. I’ve just always had people just edit the sheet freely while walking them through it.

also for those that don't think they will be there right at 7 thats ok, its going to stretch on until 8, so i'll stay on until everyone feels settled. it's just a session zero to work on character sheets so there won't be any gameplay

Yeah, I don't think I can be on before 7:45 at the earliest, so if you're looking to wrap around 8, I might miss out. I can follow up with any questions, though.

Yeah make an account on roll20.net and then make your character on a character sheet. Maddog explained how to find the character sheet earlier:
That's what I did. I used roll20 so that it's in the chat, just to be extra honest.
One thing - when I added my ability scores to my roll20 sheet, the modifiers it generated were a little higher than the ones in the chart above. I couldn't find a way to edit them lower. They did match the ones in the video.
Definitely not done with my sheet, but made a lot of progress!
